How much does the 2023 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 7.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,399 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2023 BMW 5 Series a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2023 5 Series is described as a comfortable luxury sedan with a bit of verve, and it still feels more engaging than many staid competitors. It also offers a polished, upscale midsize-sedan experience with a broad range of available technology and a strong reputation for safety. For you, that makes it a good fit if you want premium comfort and features without giving up all driving enjoyment. 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 BMW 5 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 5 Series is presented as a polished, upscale sedan with a strong reputation for safety and a generally strong reliability record. It also carries over without major changes, which can be reassuring if you prefer a mature model year with fewer surprises. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium sedan can become expensive if prior maintenance was skipped or if wear items were neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW 5 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a full record of prior damage or repairs. Put inspection priority on condition, especially signs of wear that can matter more on a premium sedan. Focus on how the car presents overall, since a well-kept example is more likely to deliver the comfort and refinement you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW 5 Series?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,399 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.68% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,408, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $37,408 sits slightly below last year's $40,518.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. If you plan to resell later, a lower entry price can reduce your depreciation exposure compared with buying when prices are elevated. The 5 Series also benefits from its premium positioning and broad appeal, which can help support demand when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $43,598, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $37,408 average.
• It shifts toward a comfort-first, tech-focused character.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid inventory and strong satisfaction. If you are willing to pay more for the newer redesign and a more comfort-focused experience, the 2024 is the secondary path to consider. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2023 is the more compelling buy.
