You should still review the history report carefully and confirm there are no hidden accident or title issues. What is the 2023 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $39,096 sits slightly below last year's $43,063.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more efficiently now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, a softer market means condition, mileage, and documentation matter even more when it comes time to set your asking price. Well-kept examples should still hold attention better than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $35,369, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $39,096 average.
• It emphasizes sporty driving dynamics with added everyday usefulness.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core BMW appeal.
