Overview

The 2023 Audi e-tron S is a dynamic all-electric compact crossover. It is available as a conventional SUV and as a fastback, dubbed the e-tron S Sportback. The e-tron S provides up to 56.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded and 28.5 cubic feet with the rear seats in use. The Sportback provides 54.5 cubic feet of cargo space and 27.2 cubic feet with the rear seats in use.
Trims for the e-tron S are Premium Plus and Prestige. The Premium Plus features leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, a power liftgate, four-zone automatic climate control, and Audi’s MMI infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Prestige trim adds features such as power soft-closing doors, rear-seat sunshades, and Digital Matrix LED headlights.
A Black Optics package is available for both trims, adding black roof rails, black window trim, and black exterior design elements. Moving inside, a Contour Seat Package adds heated and ventilated front seats and Valcona premium leather upholstery.
The e-tron S features a 95-kWh battery pack, powering three electric motors—one more than in the standard e-tron. One motor is located at the front axle and two are at the rear axle, in an all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration. Together, they make a combined 496 horsepower and 716 pound-feet of torque when Boost mode is engaged to serve up peak power in short bursts. In less-spirited driving conditions, the powertrain uses only the rear motors. The trio of motors also allows for torque vectoring at the rear wheels, which will yield impressive handling characteristics.
With Boost engaged, the e-tron S can sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 4.3 seconds. It has a top speed of 130 mph and can tow up to 3,300 pounds when properly equipped. Thanks to its adaptive air suspension, the crossover can hug corners and also glide over bumps in the road.
The e-tron S can travel up to 208 miles on a single charge. The e-tron S Sportback can actually travel a bit farther, boasting a range of 212 miles. Thanks to DC fast charging, the battery pack can be charged from 5% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Using a Level 2 charger, it can go from 10% to fully charged in about 10 hours. The e-tron S cleverly features charging ports, located at the front fenders, on both sides of the vehicle.
The 2023 Audi e-tron S comes equipped with automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams.
Base MSRP for the 2023 Audi e-tron S is $88,200 for the Premium Plus trim. The Sportback Premium Plus starts at $90,800, the Prestige trim starts at $95,300, and the Prestige Sportback starts at $97,900. The battery comes with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
