Used 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross for Sale near Virginia

How much does the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross cost?

Prices have softened 4.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 875 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and an expert rating of 6.67/10, this model year lands as a strong choice for shoppers who want Corolla familiarity in a crossover shape. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise the surprising power, excellent ride comfort, and spacious interior, and they also value the all-wheel drive for winter driving. That lines up well with the Corolla Cross’s role as a practical, approachable small SUV that adds utility without abandoning the Corolla formula.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the expert drive notes fairly pedestrian performance and uncomfortable seats. Even so, the Corolla Cross makes sense if you want a straightforward compact crossover with easy-to-use tech and a familiar Toyota feel.

With 39.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a generally positive experience, with comments that suggest the vehicle feels dependable and trouble-free for many shoppers. That kind of response matters because it usually reflects day-to-day ownership that doesn’t create a lot of headaches.

The expert drive data also supports that impression by describing the Corolla Cross as having the same feeling of solidity seen in other TNGA-platform vehicles. Toyota’s included free scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles also helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about dramatic failure and more about whether the specific vehicle has been maintained well and treated gently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re considering, even if the market looks clean overall. After that, prioritize a careful inspection of the seats, infotainment operation, and general cabin condition, since comfort and usability are central to this model’s appeal. It’s also smart to confirm that the drivetrain and all-wheel-drive equipment, if equipped, operate as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base L models get 17-inch steel wheels and a 7-inch touchscreen, while LE models add 17-inch alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, wireless charging, and pushbutton start. XLE models add 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, a digital instrument cluster, SofTex upholstery, rear automatic braking, and front and rear park assist with automatic braking.
• Powertrain: All models use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. The transmission has an actual first gear for better launch response, and AWD is available if you want extra traction.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and Lane Tracing Assist. LE adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while XLE adds rear automatic braking and front and rear park assist with automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The base model gets a 7-inch touchscreen, while LE and XLE get an 8-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth, WiFi, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Wireless charging is available on LE and XLE, and a nine-speaker JBL system is optional on those trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Toyota expects 33 mpg combined with FWD and 30 mpg combined with AWD. It also estimates 31 mpg city and 32 mpg highway for FWD, and 29 mpg city and 32 mpg highway for AWD.

Which 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross is offered in 3 trim levels: L, LE, XLE.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Corolla Cross formula with the standard 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. It makes sense if you want the lowest price and can live without the extra convenience and safety upgrades.
• LE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 8-inch touchscreen, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, wireless charging, and pushbutton start. If you want the most useful upgrades without jumping to the top trim, this is the one to target.
• XLE: This trim adds the most comfort and convenience features, including SofTex upholstery, a digital instrument cluster, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, rear automatic braking, and front and rear park assist with automatic braking. Choose it if you want the most fully equipped Corolla Cross.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard across the lineup, while LE and XLE add more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross?

The market looks moderately favorable if you’re a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 875 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,170, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross's resale value?

The current average of $23,503 sits slightly below last year's $24,676.

That price movement suggests the Corolla Cross has already given back some value, which can be good news if you’re buying now and less ideal if you’re planning to sell soon. For a future seller, the key question is whether the market stabilizes or continues to soften from here.

Because the current average is still within a relatively tight year-round band, resale should remain fairly predictable as long as the vehicle stays clean and well maintained. Strong demand for practical, easy-to-live-with crossovers can also help support used values.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross safe?

The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and Lane Tracing Assist automated lane centering. LE models add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while XLE models add rear automatic braking and front and rear park assist with automatic braking.

One important caveat is that crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS weren’t available yet in the source material for this model year, so you should lean heavily on the standard safety equipment and any vehicle-history findings when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out for blending Corolla familiarity with crossover utility, standard safety tech, and available AWD.

The bottom line: If you want the Corolla Cross formula at a softer price point, the 2022 is a sensible place to shop. Price-sensitive buyers should focus on clean, well-equipped LE listings, while shoppers who want the most features may find the XLE worth the stretch if the condition and price are right.
