Used 2022 Toyota Camry for Sale nearHampton, VA

How much does the 2022 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 2.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,332 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Camry earns a 4.88/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, stylish design, comfortable interior, and overall value for money. The expert review also points to its available V6 engine and strong value proposition, which help it appeal if you want a practical sedan with more personality than the average commuter car.

The main trade-offs are that some drivers find the four-cylinder engine underpowered and the technology feels dated. That matters most if you want the most modern cabin experience or expect quick acceleration from the base setup.

For everyday use, it fits well if you want a roomy, efficient, safe, and affordable sedan with broad appeal. 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still attractive options in the market.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback repeatedly highlights reliability, and the review summary also emphasizes that the Camry is dependable, fuel efficient, and a car many buyers can count on over the long term. The expert evaluation reinforces that with language describing it as reliable, safe, efficient, and cost-effective.

Toyota also includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years of ownership, which helps reduce early ownership costs. That kind of support can make the first stretch of ownership feel easier and more predictable.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the Camry’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

At 69.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a prior collision. Focus on bodywork quality, panel alignment, tire wear, and whether the safety and driver-assistance systems behave as expected on a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Camry TRD stands out with an aerodynamic body kit, matte-black 19-inch wheels, red brake calipers, red accent stripes and badges, and a more aggressive appearance than the rest of the lineup. It also gets standard dual-zone automatic climate control on all trims except the TRD, so feature content can vary by version.
• Powertrain: You can choose a four-cylinder engine, a V6 engine, or a gas-electric hybrid powertrain that can deliver more than 50 mpg in combined driving. The TRD uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Every 2022 Camry has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the Camry TRD but optional on LE and SE.
• Infotainment: The TRD comes with a standard 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM satellite radio, Safety Connect, and WiFi Connect. A 9-inch touchscreen is optional and adds Remote Connect and Service Connect, plus a 9-speaker JBL premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Camry TRD is rated at 25 mpg in combined driving, and the expert test drive returned 24.8 mpg. The hybrid powertrain can deliver more than 50 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2022 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Camry is offered in 1 trim level: TRD.

Here's the short version:

• TRD: This is the trim to choose if you want the Camry’s most distinctive styling and the strongest performance focus. It adds the V6 powertrain, track-tuned suspension hardware, bigger brakes, summer performance tires, and a more aggressive exterior look. It also comes standard with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which makes it the best fit if you want the most character in the lineup.

The safety package includes Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,332 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,373, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $23,267 sits slightly below last year's $23,758.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and trim desirability than on broad market momentum alone.

The Camry’s strong reputation for reliability, efficiency, and value should continue to support demand. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment are likely to hold buyer interest better than neglected or heavily worn ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2022 Toyota Camry earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and five-star ratings in every single evaluation NHTSA performs.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2022 Camry has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance. Toyota also includes Safety Connect standard on every trim, with automatic collision notification, an emergency assistance button, roadside assistance access, and a stolen vehicle locator.

One thing to keep in mind is that the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise systems can feel overly assertive at times, especially on roads that curve or change lane width. That does not erase the Camry’s strong safety credentials, but it does mean you may want to test the driver-assistance behavior yourself before buying.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out for its available V6 performance, standard advanced safety features, and strong value positioning.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,851, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $23,267 average.
• It offers a broad range of choices, including multiple powertrains, trim levels, and available all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-year market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2022 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you a versatile Camry formula.
