This model also has a sportier suspension and upgraded performance brakes. The Model Y is available with an optional tow hitch, giving it a 3,500-pound towing capacity. The EPA measures EVs in terms of miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent, or MPGe. The Model Y Long Range returns an estimated 122 MPGe, and the Performance returns 111 MPGe. With a Level 2 charger, the Model Y gains 30-40 miles of range per hour. Tesla’s Supercharger network allows it to add up to 160 miles of range in just 15 minutes.
