Used 2022 Subaru WRX for Sale nearLas Vegas, NV

How much does the 2022 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 6.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,097 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Subaru WRX earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its thrilling performance, sporty character, and strong value, especially if you want all-wheel-drive capability. The review summary also points to driving sophistication and versatility for both spirited driving and daily commuting.

On the downside, the expert notes call out poor fuel economy and the lack of standard advanced safety features. That means you’re getting a performance sedan with real everyday usability, but you should expect some compromises if efficiency and standard driver aids matter most to you.

The WRX fits best if you want a fun-to-drive sedan with all-weather traction and a more engaging personality than a typical commuter car. Good and great deals account for 34.9% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with many drivers appreciating its versatility and the confidence that comes from all-wheel drive. It also highlights a strong reputation for performance that still works well for commuting, which is a good sign if you want a car you can count on regularly.

The expert notes reinforce that impression by emphasizing the WRX’s improved platform and more forgiving suspension, both of which support a more settled ownership experience. Subaru also says the car’s crash structure is improved over the previous architecture, which adds another layer of reassurance.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a performance sedan can be driven hard, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru WRX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a WRX because performance cars can hide wear that isn’t obvious in photos. Focus on signs of hard use, uneven tire wear, and any evidence that the car has been modified or repaired after damage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base and Premium trims miss out on some safety equipment that appears on higher trims, so check carefully if those features matter to you. The Premium trim adds more visual and tech appeal, while the Limited and GT bring more equipment and a more upscale feel.
• Powertrain: The WRX uses a 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer four-cylinder with standard all-wheel drive. You can choose a six-speed manual or a CVT, and the GT trim is CVT-only.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight suite comes standard on CVT-equipped models and includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, an electronic brake booster, and automatic steering assist. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the Limited and GT, but not on the base and Premium trims.
• Infotainment: Premium-trim and higher models get an 11.6-inch touchscreen. Base trims use dual 7-inch displays. Wireless smartphone integration is not mentioned, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay behavior is described as uneven.
• Fuel efficiency: Subaru says the WRX should return 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined.

Which 2022 Subaru WRX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Subaru WRX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Premium, Limited, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the WRX formula at the lowest cost, but you give up some of the nicer cabin and safety equipment found higher up the range. It still gives you the core appeal of standard all-wheel drive and a manual transmission.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the more impressive 11.6-inch touchscreen and a more polished overall feel without jumping all the way to the top of the range. It also lines up with the trim Subaru expects many buyers to choose.
• Limited: This is the trim to target if you want the strongest safety equipment mix, since it adds blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. It makes the most sense if you want a better-equipped daily driver.
• GT: This is the most specialized version, with Recaro seats, electronically controlled dampers, and Drive Mode Select. It’s the right pick if you want the most feature-rich WRX and don’t mind that it comes only with the CVT.

Safety-package note: EyeSight is standard only on CVT-equipped models, while the Limited and GT add blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru WRX?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can find value if you shop with patience.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,097 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,776, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $25,776 sits slightly below last year's $27,424.

That price movement suggests the WRX has softened enough to create a better entry point for buyers today, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively if the market stays soft. A model that starts from a lower current average can still hold appeal, especially when it has a strong enthusiast following and broad all-weather usefulness.

For you as an owner, the key resale advantage is that the WRX still has a clear identity: performance, all-wheel drive, and manual-transmission appeal. Those traits help keep demand alive among shoppers who want something more engaging than a typical compact sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Subaru WRX safe?

The 2022 Subaru WRX earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety in the WRX is a tale of two transmissions. CVT-equipped models come standard with Subaru’s EyeSight suite of advanced driver assistance systems, which includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, an electronic brake booster, and automatic steering assist. Buy a six-speed WRX, however, and you don’t get EyeSight.

The WRX also comes with seven airbags, including a driver’s-side knee airbag. Separate from EyeSight, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the Limited and GT trims, but not on the base and Premium trims.

A key caveat is that the manual-transmission cars miss out on the standard EyeSight safety suite, so safety equipment depends heavily on the trim and transmission you choose.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Subaru sharpened the powertrain, suspension, and technology for a more polished WRX.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,614, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $25,776 average.
• It emphasizes driving enjoyment over refinement.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,008, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $25,776 average.
• It carries the same current-generation formula with no changes reported.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, performance, and modernized hardware, the 2022 is the sweet spot. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the value play; if you want the newest version of the same formula and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is the straightforward upgrade path.
