How much does the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek cost?

Prices have softened 5.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,231 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its all-wheel-drive capability, excellent fuel economy, and strong safety features, and they also like its comfort and overall practicality. That fits especially well if you want a small crossover that works as an easy daily driver with all-weather confidence and useful cargo space. With 36.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes reliability, with shoppers describing the Crosstrek as dependable and well suited to long-term ownership. Its reputation for being trouble-free and easy to count on is reinforced by the strong satisfaction score and the practical, low-drama nature of the vehicle. For used buyers, that suggests lower ownership risk if you choose a well-maintained example with a clean history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, even when the market shows a healthy share of clean listings. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of prior damage or neglect. Because this model is often bought for everyday use and all-weather duty, you’ll want to make sure the drivetrain, interior wear, and service history all match the mileage and asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

This is a moderate market for buyers, so you can shop selectively without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,231 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.61% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,952, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $22,213 sits slightly below last year's $23,533.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it well, you’ll be better positioned to preserve value. Demand should remain supported by the model’s practical layout, all-wheel-drive appeal, and strong owner satisfaction.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,849, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,213 average.
• It adds a Sport trim and an available 2.5-liter engine.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2022 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Crosstrek’s core appeal.
