Used 2022 Subaru BRZ for Sale nearAlexandria, VA

How much does the 2022 Subaru BRZ cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 122 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Subaru BRZ a good car?

Generally — you’re looking at a 4.29/5 user-rated sports car with an expert score of 7.67/10. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the BRZ for its sporty performance, fun driving experience, comfortable ride, engaging handling, and stylish design. The expert review also backs up the appeal with notes about its fun-to-drive character, easy-to-use technology, and strong value for money.

The trade-offs are familiar for a small coupe: the back seat is cramped, and some drivers wish for a more powerful engine, a better audio system, and improved seating comfort. In practical terms, this is a car that makes the most sense if you want a lightweight, driver-focused coupe rather than everyday passenger space.

With 40.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2022 Subaru BRZ reliable?

Owners rate it 4.29/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels sporty, fun, comfortable, and satisfying to live with, while also suggesting that many buyers see it as a fantastic value for a sports car. That combination usually matters when you’re trying to judge whether a used car will hold up well in real ownership.

The expert review also describes the BRZ as a more refined second-generation car, with improved on-road manners, a quieter cabin, and a more forgiving ride than before. Subaru’s five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty also help support early ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about how the car was driven and maintained, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru BRZ?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any BRZ you’re considering, because sports cars are more likely than average to have seen enthusiastic use. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important here, since you want to know whether the car has been modified, tracked, or simply worn harder than a typical commuter car.

Focus on the condition of the drivetrain, tires, brakes, and interior wear, and pay close attention to whether the car feels tight and well-kept on a test drive. If you’re shopping for a manual, make sure the clutch engagement feels normal and the transmission shifts cleanly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Premium trim gets 17-inch wheels with Michelin Primacy tires, while the Limited rides on 18-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires for more grip. The Limited also adds Ultrasuede upholstery with red accent stitching, dual-mode heaters, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, steering responsive headlights, and reverse automatic braking on automatic models.
• Powertrain: The BRZ uses a 2.4-liter boxer-four with Toyota’s D-4S fuel-injection system, making 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. You can get either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters, and the engine’s lower torque peak helps the car feel more flexible in everyday driving.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist tech is standard only on automatic-transmission models and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, and automatic high beams. The Limited adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and steering responsive headlights, with reverse automatic braking on automatic Limited models.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 8-inch touchscreen and digital gauge cluster, plus Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The digital cluster also gives you access to sport mode and track mode.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA ratings are 25 mpg combined, 21 mpg city, and 30 mpg highway with the automatic, or 22 mpg combined, 20 mpg city, and 27 mpg highway with the manual.

Which 2022 Subaru BRZ trim should I buy?

The 2022 Subaru BRZ is offered in 2 trim levels: Premium and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core BRZ formula: rear-wheel drive, the 2.4-liter boxer engine, a six-speed manual or automatic, an 8-inch touchscreen, a digital gauge cluster, and standard smartphone integration. It’s the trim to consider if you want the BRZ experience at the lowest starting price.
• Limited: This is the better-equipped choice and the one that best matches the BRZ’s sporty personality. You get larger 18-inch wheels with grippier tires, Ultrasuede upholstery, dual-mode heaters, and the full safety upgrade set, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and steering responsive headlights. If you want the best-value trim overall, this is the one to target.

With the Limited, automatic models also add reverse automatic braking, which is a useful extra safety feature.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru BRZ?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 122 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,086, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru BRZ's resale value?

The current average of $26,623 sits slightly above last year's $26,497.

That small increase suggests the BRZ has held its value fairly well, which is a good sign if you’re thinking about eventual resale. A stable price trend usually means the market is comfortable with the car’s positioning and doesn’t see it as rapidly depreciating.

For you as a future seller, that can translate into more predictable exit pricing if you keep the car in clean condition and avoid heavy wear. The BRZ’s niche appeal also helps, because buyers looking for a lightweight sports coupe tend to be more intentional than average shoppers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Subaru BRZ safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist tech is standard only on automatic-transmission models and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, and automatic high beams. The Limited trim adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and steering responsive headlights, while automatic Limited models also get reverse automatic braking.

That means you should pay close attention to trim and transmission when comparing used examples, because the safety equipment changes meaningfully. The biggest caveat is that the BRZ’s safety ratings from the major crash-test organizations had not been released in the source material, so you’ll want to lean more heavily on equipment level and vehicle history when shopping.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru BRZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model brings a redesigned exterior, a more powerful 2.4-liter engine, and more tech than the previous BRZ.

The bottom line: If you want the BRZ with the biggest step forward in power, tech, and overall refinement, the 2022 is the one to target. If you’re mainly shopping on price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2022’s stronger engine and updated cabin make it the more compelling pick for most buyers.
