Used 2022 Nissan Sentra for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2022 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 5.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,615 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2022 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It fits well if you want an approachable small sedan that emphasizes easy-to-use technology, comfort, and stylish design. The overall package is balanced rather than flashy, and that makes it a sensible choice for everyday use.

The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and less cargo space than some rivals. Even so, it remains a strong fit for shoppers who value a calm, easy-to-live-with compact car.

Only 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than flooded with bargains.

Is the 2022 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Sentra is described as a well-rounded compact sedan that avoids major weaknesses, and its balanced mix of comfort, technology, and design supports that impression. Its 2.0-liter four-cylinder and CVT are presented as consistent rather than exciting, with solid low-end acceleration and good highway manners.

The Sentra is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, which adds some ownership reassurance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright weakness and more about making sure the car has been maintained well and hasn’t been abused.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Sentra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on overall condition, since the Sentra’s appeal depends heavily on how well its comfort, technology, and safety equipment have been kept up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S trim includes 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers, halogen headlights, and a 7-inch touchscreen, while the SV adds alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, proximity keyless entry, and an 8-inch touchscreen. The SR adds 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and sport cloth seats, so the base trim is the most stripped-down choice.
• Powertrain: Every 2022 Sentra uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. The setup is described as consistent and satisfactory, with solid low-end acceleration and good highway behavior.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane-departure warning, and blind spot monitoring. Adaptive cruise control and a surround-view parking monitor are available on the test model, and the adaptive cruise control can brake abruptly when closing in on traffic.
• Infotainment: The base car gets a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while SV and SR trims upgrade to an 8-inch screen. The system is easy to use, but it does not offer wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The Sentra returns 29 mpg city, 39 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined, while the SR returns 28 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Nissan Sentra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Sentra is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SR.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and can live with the most basic equipment. You still get the 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus the core safety tech, but you give up the nicer wheels, larger screen, and convenience upgrades found higher up.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds 16-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, proximity keyless entry, premium cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the larger 8-inch touchscreen. It also adds two conventional USB ports, a USB-C port, intelligent cruise control, and SiriusXM.
• SR: This is the style-forward choice, with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, sport cloth seats with orange stitching, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. If you want the most distinctive look and the richest feature set, this is the trim to target.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but the available adaptive cruise control and surround-view monitor are additional features rather than universal equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,615 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.68% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,497, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $16,723 sits slightly below last year's $17,730.

That softer pricing suggests the Sentra is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly, which can make it easier to purchase but may temper near-term resale upside. If you buy now, your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is equipped relative to other listings.

Because the market has already moved down from last year, a clean, well-kept example should be easier to position competitively later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Sentra safe?

The 2022 Nissan Sentra earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick award from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane-departure warning, and blind spot monitoring. The test model also had a surround-view parking monitor and adaptive cruise control.

The main caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can brake abruptly when it closes in on traffic, and the IIHS noted lower headlight ratings even though crash performance was excellent.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 Sentra is the perfect entry point for Nissan, with balanced comfort, technology, and style.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $15,258, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $16,723 average.
• It feels like a smart choice rather than a compromise.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around package and are comfortable paying a bit more, the 2022 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you still want a polished compact sedan, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path.
