Summary
With 411 currently listed for sale near Miami, FL and an average price of $18,589, 55.7% of 2022 Nissan Rogues for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
After a complete makeover for the 2021 model year, the 2022 Nissan Rogue stands out for its new powertrain. It uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline three-cylinder gasoline engine with variable compression and a new continuously variable transmission, replacing the former 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline four-cylinder engine and CVT the Rogue had used for years. That change gives the Rogue a more modern mechanical setup and helps it claim 33 mpg combined, which the source describes as class-leading among non-hybrid compact crossover SUVs.
The 2022 Nissan Rogue is also notable for being a two-row compact crossover SUV with frameless, unibody construction on a platform that was all-new for 2021. It comes with front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive and is offered in four trim levels. Pricing starts at $26,700 for front-wheel-drive models and rises to $36,480 before options, while all-wheel drive adds $1,500 on any trim level. Those details make it a practical choice for buyers who want a mainstream SUV with updated hardware, available traction, and a relatively efficient footprint, though the source frames its appeal mainly around the new engine, transmission, and fuel economy.

Drive and handle very smoothly. Excellent fuel economy. The seats (even the backseats) are very comfortable.

Absolutely love my 2022 Rogue SL AWD. The exterior looks really sharp, and the interior is outstanding as far as looks and functionality go. The seats are incredibly comfortable, and I’m most appreciative of the adjustable lumbar support. The turbo engine has plenty of pep, and gas mileage is excellent (I’ve been averaging mid-30s, all city). My last car was a Jeep Compass, and the Rogue is far superior in comfort, ride, acceleration, and maneuverability. I researched 2022 SUVs and the Rogue was ranked high in most reviews, and I haven’t been disappointed.

There are 9,622 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.
Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Nissan Rogue earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.
It’s a two-row compact crossover SUV with a modernized powertrain, available all-wheel drive, and a focus on efficiency and everyday practicality. The new engine and transmission help it deliver 33 mpg combined, and the cabin packaging emphasizes useful storage, a roomy second row, and a polished interior presentation.
The market also shows 34.4% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2022 Rogue’s reliability case is helped by its updated mechanical setup, including the new variable-compression turbo engine and revised CVT, which are described as more modern and more efficient than the outgoing setup. The expert evaluation also points to smooth, controlled ride quality and strong fit and finish, both of which matter when you’re living with a used SUV every day.
The engine’s efficiency-focused design and the transmission’s wider gear-ratio spread suggest a powertrain built for everyday usability rather than stress. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained properly and checked carefully for condition, since that’s what will matter most as mileage climbs.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Rogue?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a vehicle history report on any Rogue you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the powertrain, electronics, and interior condition, since those are the areas that will shape your ownership experience most. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment closely so you know whether the features you want are actually present.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Rogue comes in four trim levels, and the base S is the most stripped-down version. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment, while the SL and Platinum bring features like LED foglamps and more upscale cabin content.
- Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline three-cylinder engine with variable compression and a new CVT. It makes 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, and the setup is tuned for stronger everyday response and better efficiency.
- Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trim levels and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. ProPilot Assist is available, and ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link adds navigation-linked predictive speed control.
- Infotainment: The Rogue has a 9-inch center touchscreen, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay on upper trim levels. Upper trims also add a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.8-inch head-up display.
- Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is rated at 30 mpg city/37 mpg highway/33 mpg combined on regular unleaded fuel.
Which 2022 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?
The 2022 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum.
Here's the short version:
- S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Rogue’s new engine, standard safety suite, and core practicality at the lowest price.
- SV: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment without pushing you into the highest price tiers.
- SL: This is the sweet spot if you want the strongest mix of comfort, technology, and value; it’s also the trim the source specifically highlights with the Premium Package.
- Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale Rogue, including the richest feature content and the most premium cabin presentation.
The SL is the trim the source points to as the best balance of features and price, especially with the Premium Package. Safety Shield 360 is standard on every trim, so you don’t have to move up the lineup to get the core driver-assistance suite.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Rogue?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 9,622 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.79% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 87.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $19,797, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Nissan Rogue's resale value?
The current average of $19,797 sits slightly below last year's $23,508.
That price movement suggests the Rogue has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, it also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than just model-year age.
Because the Rogue is still a high-volume compact crossover with broad shopper appeal, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than niche vehicles. Strong pricing discipline now can help you avoid overpaying, which matters when you eventually go to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue safe?
The 2022 Nissan Rogue received a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, and the IIHS had not yet released crash test ratings for this model year.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trim levels and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. ProPilot Assist is available as a hands-on driver-assist system that combines steering assist and adaptive cruise control, and ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link adds navigation-linked predictive speed control.
The main caveat is that the 2022 model did not yet have IIHS crash test results at the time of the source material, so you should lean on the standard safety equipment and NHTSA result when evaluating it.
Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.79% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2022 brings a new 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine and revised CVT, plus class-leading 33 mpg combined among non-hybrid compact crossover SUVs.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $18,855, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $19,797 average.
- It’s a thoroughly redesigned Rogue with a more upscale feel and strong ride quality.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $22,386, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $19,797 average.
- It adds fresh feature updates like Midnight Edition and Amazon Alexa compatibility.
The bottom line: If you want the best mix of updated hardware, efficiency, and current-market pricing, the 2022 is the strongest default choice. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 can save you money while still giving you the redesigned Rogue experience. If you want newer feature content and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is the step-up path.
