Used 2022 Nissan Rogue for Sale nearGeneva, IL

How much does the 2022 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 15.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

With 9,706 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Rogue earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

That lines up with a two-row compact crossover that emphasizes a modern powertrain, available all-wheel drive, and strong fuel economy. The Rogue’s updated engine and transmission, roomy second row, and polished cabin design make it a practical fit if you want a mainstream SUV with efficient everyday use and a more upscale feel than its price might suggest.

The market also shows 36.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Rogue’s reliability case is helped by its updated mechanical setup, including the 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine and new CVT, which are described as a more modern combination than the outgoing setup. The expert evaluation also points to smooth, controlled ride quality and a drivetrain that responds more readily in passing situations, which supports confidence in day-to-day use.

The fuel-saving variable-compression engine is designed to balance power and efficiency transparently, and the cabin packaging suggests thoughtful engineering rather than a rushed redesign. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained properly and checked carefully for wear, since any newer drivetrain is best bought with a clean history and a thorough inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Rogue?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any Rogue you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the drivetrain, electronics, tires, brakes, and suspension, since those are the areas most likely to reveal how the vehicle was treated. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you’re shopping a higher-mileage example or one priced near the top of the range.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SL and Platinum trims add LED foglamps, and the upper trims bring more upscale cabin materials and larger displays. If you want the most equipment, the Platinum is the most fully featured, while the lower trims are the ones where you’ll feel the biggest feature gaps.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline three-cylinder engine with variable compression and a new CVT. It makes 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, and the setup is tuned for stronger response and better efficiency than the previous engine.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trim levels. It includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. ProPilot Assist is available, and ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link adds navigation-linked speed control.
• Infotainment: Upper trims get a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 9-inch center touchscreen, and a 10.8-inch head-up display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and wireless Apple CarPlay is available on upper trim levels.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is rated at 30 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined on regular unleaded fuel.

Which 2022 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Rogue’s core value proposition without stretching your budget. It makes sense if you want the new engine, standard safety tech, and the lowest starting price.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it moves you up the lineup without jumping all the way to the luxury-leaning upper trims. It’s the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of equipment and price.
• SL: This is the sweet spot if you want the strongest blend of comfort, tech, and value. The available Premium Package adds BOSE audio, the 9-inch infotainment display with navigation, and ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link.
• Platinum: This is the most upscale choice, with the richest feature set and the most premium cabin presentation. Choose it if you want the top-end Rogue experience and are willing to pay for it.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trim levels, so even the lower trims start with a strong safety foundation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,706 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,632, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $19,658 sits slightly below last year's $23,219.

That drop suggests the Rogue has moved into a more buyer-friendly pricing zone, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the good news is that the model still has broad appeal thanks to its fuel economy, standard safety equipment, and mainstream compact-SUV positioning.

Because the Rogue is a high-volume nameplate with strong everyday usefulness, demand should remain steady as long as the vehicle is clean, well maintained, and priced realistically. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2022 Nissan Rogue earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trim levels, and it includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. The Rogue also includes ten supplemental airbags, extended crumple zones, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and rear door alert.

ProPilot Assist adds steering assist and adaptive cruise control, while ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link layers in navigation-linked predictive speed control. That gives you a strong standard safety base, with more advanced driver assistance available if you move up the trim ladder.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The new 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine and revised CVT give it stronger performance and better efficiency.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,632, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $19,658 average.
• It offers a thoroughly redesigned cabin and a more upscale feel.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $22,143, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $19,658 average.
• It adds Midnight Edition styling on the SV and Amazon Alexa compatibility on the Platinum.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of updated hardware, strong fuel economy, and broad market availability, the 2022 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the value play; if you want newer feature content and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is worth a look.
