How much does the 2022 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 15.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

With 9,795 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Rogue earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It’s a two-row compact crossover SUV with a modernized mechanical setup, front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive, and a cabin that emphasizes comfort, storage, and upscale execution. The Rogue also stands out for its class-leading 33 mpg combined efficiency among non-hybrid compact crossover SUVs.

The market shows 38.4% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Rogue benefits from a new engine and transmission, and the expert review describes the updated powertrain as more modern and more efficient than the previous setup. The performance writeup also notes that the new CVT’s wider gear-ratio spread helps the SUV take off with more authority and respond more readily in passing situations.

The cost-effectiveness section also points to a useful ownership perk: the SL with the Premium Package is positioned as a sweet spot, and the package includes convenience and tech features without forcing you into the highest trim. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the vehicle’s condition and maintenance history match its relatively low current price.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Rogue?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the powertrain, electronics, and interior condition, especially if the vehicle has higher mileage or missing service documentation. Pay close attention to trim-specific equipment so you know whether the features you want are actually present.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S is the base trim, while the SL and Platinum add more upscale equipment; the SL and Platinum also get LED foglamps, and the upper trims bring more premium cabin and display content.
• Powertrain: The Rogue uses a 1.5-liter VC-Turbo inline three-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, paired with a new CVT; it’s tuned for stronger response and better efficiency than the prior setup.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trim levels and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wireless Apple CarPlay is available on upper trim levels, and the Rogue can be equipped with a 9-inch center touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and a 10.8-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is rated at 30 mpg city/37 mpg highway/33 mpg combined, which is a major part of its appeal.

Which 2022 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Rogue’s core value proposition with standard Safety Shield 360, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the new turbocharged engine. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable skipping the more upscale tech and comfort upgrades.
• SV: This is the logical step up if you want a better-equipped daily driver without jumping too far in price. It adds useful equipment over the S and keeps the Rogue’s strong efficiency and safety foundation intact.
• SL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it hits the sweet spot in the lineup. It’s the trim to target if you want the 9-inch infotainment display with navigation, BOSE premium audio, and ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link without paying for the top trim’s extra luxury features.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale Rogue, including the highest-end cabin and tech content. It’s the trim for you if you want the fullest feature set and are willing to pay for it.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,795 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,385, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $19,385 sits slightly below last year's $22,950.

That decline suggests the Rogue has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand stay healthy in the near term. For a future seller, the current pricing trend means you may not recover as much as earlier owners did, especially if the vehicle is not in excellent condition or lacks desirable equipment. On the other hand, the Rogue’s strong efficiency, broad appeal, and high satisfaction rating can help support buyer interest when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2022 Nissan Rogue received a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trim levels and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. The Rogue also includes ten supplemental airbags, extended crumple zones, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and rear door alert. ProPilot Assist is available, and the enhanced ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link adds navigation-linked predictive speed control.

IIHS had not released crash test ratings for the 2022 Rogue at the time of the review, though the 2021 Rogue earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a new 1.5-liter VC-Turbo engine and updated transmission for stronger performance and better efficiency.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,422, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $19,385 average.
• It’s the redesigned Rogue with a polished, premium-feeling cabin.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,949, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $19,385 average.
• It adds trim-specific updates like Midnight Edition styling and Alexa compatibility.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated powertrain, strong efficiency, and current pricing, the 2022 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 can save you money while still delivering the redesigned Rogue experience. If you want newer trim-specific features and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is worth a look.
