The model also benefits from a smooth, controlled ride and good steering feel, which supports everyday dependability.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained properly and checked carefully for condition, since that matters more than the model’s strong overall setup.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Rogue?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage doesn’t replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the equipment on the specific trim matches what you expect. Pay close attention to the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and tire and brake wear so you know exactly what you’re buying.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S starts with the essentials, while the SV, SL, and Platinum add more comfort and convenience equipment. The SL and Platinum bring LED foglamps, and upper trims add the larger digital instrument display and more upscale cabin touches.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter VC-Turbo inline three-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, paired with a new CVT. The setup is tuned for stronger response and better efficiency than the previous engine.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. ProPilot Assist is available, and ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link adds predictive speed control tied to navigation.
• Infotainment: The Rogue has a 9-inch center touchscreen, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay on upper trims. Upper trims also add a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.8-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The Rogue is rated at 30 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined on regular unleaded fuel.

Which 2022 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Rogue’s core value proposition without stretching the budget. It’s the trim to consider if you want the lowest starting price and standard safety coverage.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it moves you up the lineup without jumping straight to the most expensive versions. It’s the smart middle ground if you want more equipment but still care about price.
• SL: This is the sweet spot if you want the strongest mix of features and value. The available Premium Package adds BOSE premium audio, the 9-inch infotainment display with navigation, and ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link without forcing you into the top trim.
• Platinum: This is the most upscale Rogue, with the richest feature set and the most premium cabin presentation. Choose it if you want the most advanced screens and the highest-end feel.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trim levels, and ProPilot Assist is available on higher trims.

What is the 2022 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $19,207 sits slightly below last year's $22,771.

That drop suggests the Rogue has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. The good news is that strong shopper interest in the model and its broad appeal can help support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds the new VC-Turbo engine and updated transmission for stronger performance and better efficiency.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,247, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $19,207 average.
• It offers a polished redesign with a premium-feeling interior and great ride quality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,774, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $19,207 average.
• It adds trim-specific updates like Midnight Edition and Amazon Alexa compatibility.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the newer engine, strong efficiency, and a well-equipped safety package at a lower used price than the 2023. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2021 is the cheaper path, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the latest trim updates.
