Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview frames it as a value-focused subcompact crossover with standard all-wheel drive, easy parking manners, and a straightforward ownership experience. It is especially appealing if you want an affordable small SUV with useful modern equipment on the right trims, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 7-inch touchscreen audio display, and automatic climate control. Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview describes later-year models as having a reputation for solid reliability, and the 2022 version continues that practical, low-drama formula. You should still expect the usual used-car variables, but the model’s simple approach and long-running design can help reduce ownership surprises if you buy a well-kept example. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a neglected vehicle rather than a fundamentally complicated one.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the vehicle’s condition matches the listing. Pay close attention to signs of wear in the interior and suspension, since the overview points to cheap interior materials and a rough ride as known traits. If possible, test the vehicle on roads that let you judge ride quality, braking, and overall drivability before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without waiting forever for the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 552 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,694, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport's resale value?

The current average of $15,694 sits slightly below last year's $17,426.

That price movement suggests the model has softened in the used market, which can make it easier for you to buy at a reasonable entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in strong shape, you improve your odds of holding value better than the average listing. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2022 is a smart choice if you want the Outlander Sport’s value-first formula, standard all-wheel drive, and straightforward ownership experience at a softened market price. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 is the better path when you want a balance of affordability, inventory choice, and strong owner satisfaction.
