Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth driving experience, spaciousness, and good handling, and many also like the comfort it provides in urban settings. For you, that makes it especially appealing if you want a van that can work as a cargo hauler, passenger shuttle, or camper foundation while still feeling more refined than many rivals. With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable driving experience, with praise centered on smooth operation, comfort, and the kind of day-to-day usability that helps a van feel trouble-free over time. At the same time, you should pay close attention to maintenance history and any signs of prior damage, since hidden issues can affect ownership confidence and long-term costs. For used buyers, the main risk is ending up with a well-equipped van that has been neglected or repaired poorly, so condition matters as much as mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a full history report, especially if the van has had commercial use, modifications, or prior bodywork. A thorough pre-purchase inspection matters here because technology, sensors, and emissions-related components can add complexity and cost. Focus on overall condition, signs of hidden damage, and evidence of consistent maintenance so you can avoid a van that looks good on paper but may be expensive to own.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter's resale value?

The current average of $63,105 sits slightly above last year's $45,373.

That kind of price movement suggests strong demand, which can help support resale value if you buy well and keep the van in good condition. Because the Sprinter appeals to buyers who need flexibility, refinement, and utility, well-kept examples can remain attractive when it's time to sell. Higher demand also means you may recover more value if your van has desirable equipment and a clean history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 39.08% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a refined, highly configurable full-size van and you're comfortable shopping carefully, the 2022 is a strong primary choice. If price is your top priority, a nearby year may offer a lower entry point, but you should still compare condition, history, and equipment closely before deciding.
