How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class cost?

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class a good car?

Generally — 4/5 is a solid user rating for this model year, and the overview points to a luxury convertible that blends style, technology, and everyday usability. You get an electrically folding fabric roof, a cabin centered on Mercedes-Benz’s latest MBUX infotainment system, and a four-seat layout that broadens its appeal beyond a pure two-seat roadster. It also brings serious performance and adjustable driving modes, so you can tailor it for relaxed cruising or a more aggressive drive. At the same time, the rear seats are very limited and cargo space is small, so it fits best if you value comfort, tech, and open-air grand touring more than practicality.

27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a car built around polished luxury, strong performance, and everyday livability, with a cabin that prioritizes modern controls and comfort. That said, the same design focus also brings some compromises in tactile feel and practicality, so your ownership experience will depend on how well the car has been maintained and how much you value convenience versus character.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic appeal and more about whether a high-end, tech-heavy convertible has been kept in consistently good condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s condition matches its premium positioning. Put extra inspection priority on the roof mechanism, interior electronics, and signs of wear in the cabin, since those are the kinds of areas that matter most in a luxury convertible. Focus on how the car drives, how the controls respond, and whether the limited rear-seat and cargo areas meet your expectations.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare and some room to negotiate.

• Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 264 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $95,430, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class's resale value?

The current average of $95,587 sits slightly below last year's $99,896.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may temper short-term resale upside if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the car in excellent condition, you can reduce the impact of depreciation. The model’s luxury badge and broad appeal should still support demand among shoppers who want a high-end convertible with strong performance.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $94,652, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $95,587 average.
• It adds a more striking personality with a gorgeous but more polarizing character.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger value case in this comparison, the 2022 is the safer primary pick because it combines a softer market, decent deal availability, and strong accident-free inventory. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2023 is the better secondary path, especially if its lower average price matters more than the 2022’s broader market balance.
