How much does the 2022 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 2.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,098 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2022 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mazda CX-30 earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its performance, stylish design, and spacious interior, and many also like the quiet ride and powerful engine. The CX-30’s upscale cabin and engaging driving character fit well if you want a small crossover that feels more premium than many rivals.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the confusing infotainment system. If you value a refined interior and a more engaging drive over maximum simplicity, this model year fits that brief well.

Good and great deals account for 38.8% of listings, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its quiet ride, strong performance, and overall satisfaction over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes a refined ride and a solid, upscale feel, which supports the impression of a well-sorted crossover.

The CX-30’s five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty adds some ownership reassurance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about making sure any example you consider has been maintained well and doesn’t have unresolved electrical or infotainment issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mazda CX-30?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not guaranteed. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin electronics, visibility, and overall condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction. It also makes sense to confirm that the vehicle’s equipment matches the trim level you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.5 S starts with standard all-wheel drive, an 8.8-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an eight-speaker stereo, while higher trims add features like synthetic leather upholstery, a power sunroof, heated front seats, a power liftgate, full leather upholstery, and a head-up display. The base trim is the most stripped-down version, so you’ll want to compare it carefully against the better-equipped trims if comfort and convenience matter to you.
• Powertrain: The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder is rated at 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on 87 octane fuel, or 250 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93 octane fuel. The turbo adds stronger acceleration, and the standard all-wheel-drive setup helps the CX-30 feel confident in a range of conditions.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rain-sensing wipers, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, front-and-rear parking sensors, and reverse automatic emergency braking.
• Infotainment: The CX-30 uses an 8.8-inch screen, and it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is controlled by a rotary dial rather than touch input, which can make it less intuitive than you might expect.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine returns 24 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined, while the turbo engine returns 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 7 trim levels: 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Premium, Turbo, Turbo Premium, and Turbo Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5 S: This is the entry point, but it still gives you standard all-wheel drive, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a strong safety baseline. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the CX-30 without giving up the core package.
• 2.5 S Select: This trim adds 18-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear climate vents, synthetic leather upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. It’s the best-value choice if you want a noticeable comfort upgrade without jumping too far in price.
• 2.5 S Preferred: This one builds on the Select with a power sunroof, an eight-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and mirrors that tilt down in reverse. Choose it if you want a more everyday-friendly setup with a few premium touches.
• 2.5 S Premium: This trim adds a power rear liftgate, full leather upholstery, a head-up display, adaptive headlights, and SiriusXM with traffic and weather. It’s the right pick if you want the most upscale non-turbo version.
• Turbo: The turbo model brings the stronger engine for buyers who care more about acceleration than feature count. It’s the trim to target if driving enjoyment matters most.
• Turbo Premium: This version layers in more convenience and premium equipment while keeping the turbo powertrain. It suits you if you want the stronger engine and a richer feature set.
• Turbo Premium Plus: This is the most fully equipped version, adding front-and-rear parking sensors and additional driver-assistance features. It’s the one to buy if you want the most complete CX-30 experience.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the most advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims.

• Inventory: There are 2,098 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.84% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,460, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $22,220 sits slightly below last year's $22,868.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-30 has already moved through some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stays steady. If you buy at a competitive price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell.

The model’s broad appeal helps too, especially because shoppers respond well to its upscale cabin and engaging drive. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines upscale cabin quality with standard advanced safety features and engaging handling.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,351, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,220 average.
• It emphasizes premium design and engaging turbo power at a lower price.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,487, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,220 average.
• It adds a more powerful base engine and improved side-impact protection.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want the CX-30’s upscale feel, strong safety, and broad market availability. If price is your top priority, the 2021 is the value alternative; if you want the newer updates and can spend more, the 2023 is the upgrade path.
