Used 2022 MINI Cooper for Sale nearOcala, FL

How much does the 2022 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 2.79% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

With 469 listings available, you have a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 2022 MINI Cooper earns a 5/5 user rating and a 5.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It stands out as a purpose-built small car with a strong emphasis on personalization, and it leans into premium small-car engineering, BMW engines, and BMW technology. That makes it especially appealing if you want a car that feels tailored rather than generic.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, cargo space is limited, and value for money is not one of its strengths. Even so, the lineup’s breadth of choices gives you room to prioritize style, equipment, or performance depending on how you plan to use it.

Good and great deals account for 37.5% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 MINI Cooper is built around BMW-based engineering, BMW engines, and BMW technology, which supports its premium positioning. It is also described as more technologically advanced than ever, and it remains fuel-efficient.

On the performance side, the available turbocharged engines and broad transmission choices give you flexibility, while the model’s personality and personalization focus help it stand apart from more generic small cars. The cost-effectiveness commentary also notes that the car can be especially appealing to the right buyer once you accept its premium pricing.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its premium setup can make repairs and upkeep feel less forgiving if you buy a poorly maintained example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 MINI Cooper?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for wear, neglected maintenance, and any signs that the car has been driven hard. Focus especially on overall condition, because this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been kept.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup emphasizes personalization, with Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works specification, plus Classic, Signature, or Iconic trim. Base versions are more likely to leave you wanting more equipment, so compare feature content carefully before you settle on the cheapest example.
• Powertrain: The Cooper uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, while the Cooper S steps up to a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Both engines can be paired with a manual or dual-clutch automatic, and the JCW version adds more power for buyers who want the strongest performance.
• Safety package: Driving Assistant is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. Adaptive cruise control is available with an automatic transmission, but blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not available.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and BMW-based connected services. Android Auto is not available, while navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a Harman Kardon sound system are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The model is described as fuel-efficient, and the Cooper S test car returned 26 mpg in combined driving according to EPA estimates.

Which 2022 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2022 MINI Cooper is offered in 3 trim levels: Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works.

Here's the short version:

• Cooper: This is the entry point, and it gives you the MINI personality at the lowest price, but the base engine is the weakest choice in the lineup. It makes sense if you care most about style and want to keep costs down.
• Cooper S: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the stronger turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and a much more satisfying driving experience without jumping all the way to JCW pricing.
• John Cooper Works: Choose this if you want the most power and the most performance-focused version of the car. It is the right pick if you’re willing to pay more for the top engine and the sportiest character.

Driving Assistant is standard, while adaptive cruise control is available only with an automatic transmission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 469 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.79% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,331, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $23,289 sits slightly below last year's $23,957.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future sellers may need to stay realistic on asking price. If the market remains near this level, a clean, well-kept example should still be easier to move than one with questionable history or heavy wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 MINI Cooper safe?

The 2022 MINI Cooper does not have published crash-test ratings from NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Driving Assistant is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. Adaptive cruise control is available with an automatic transmission, and it can bring the car to a full stop for 2022.

A blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is not available, which is worth keeping in mind given the visibility challenges when the top is raised.

Should I buy a 2022 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds refreshed styling, standard digital instrumentation, and a new infotainment system.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,995, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $23,289 average.
• It emphasizes personality and adds new features plus a manual transmission option.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $25,592, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $23,289 average.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the refreshed look, updated tech, and a market that still offers some deal potential. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want the newest styling touches and can spend more, the 2023 is the step-up choice.
