Used 2022 Lexus RX for Sale nearPhoenix, AZ

How much does the 2022 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 5.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,041 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus RX earns a 4.77/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, smooth ride, luxury feel, and feature content, and they also like the advanced tech and easygoing driving experience. The main trade-offs are its lack of pickup power and its less intuitive ergonomics, which can matter if you want a more responsive or user-friendly cabin.

For you, that means the RX makes the most sense if you value a relaxed luxury SUV over sharp performance. It remains especially appealing as a comfort-first choice in the midsize luxury segment, and 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels comfortable, dependable, and easy to live with over time. Reviewers also highlight its smooth ride and luxury feel, which often go hand in hand with the kind of ownership experience buyers want from a long-term SUV.

The expert evaluation reinforces that theme by emphasizing comfort, quality, and reliability. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about whether the RX’s slower performance and cabin ergonomics will suit your daily routine.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus RX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on cabin controls, seat comfort, and any signs of wear in the infotainment and driver-assistance systems. If you plan to keep the SUV for a while, make sure the condition matches the price, especially on higher-trim examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas RX comes in base 350, F Sport, and L trims. The base and L trims share the more conventional luxury look, while F Sport adds 20-inch wheels, black-housing mirrors, dark window trim, F Sport badging, and a unique front fascia. The base and L trims use 18-inch wheels, so you should expect a more restrained appearance and fewer sporty touches there.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 295 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard on the RX 350, with all-wheel drive available. The hybrid RX 450h adds two electric motors for 308 hp, but that is a separate hybrid model.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System 2.0+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign recognition, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, pre-collision braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, and intelligent high beams. Standard blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a head-up display, and Lexus Enform Safety Connect add more coverage. The Top Safety Pick result depends on the optional triple-beam LED headlights.
• Infotainment: Standard infotainment uses an 8-inch touchscreen, with a 12.3-inch screen available. Wireless charging, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa compatibility, a WiFi hotspot, and navigation with cloud-based updates are available, along with Lexus App features such as remote engine start and service scheduling.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 is rated at 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 combined with front-wheel drive. AWD or the three-row L model lowers those figures by 1 mpg. The RX 450h hybrid is rated at 30 mpg combined, with 31 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.

Which 2022 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus RX is offered in 3 trim levels: base 350, F Sport, and L.

Here's the short version:

• base 350: This is the best-value starting point if you want the RX’s comfort, luxury feel, and standard safety equipment without paying for the sportier appearance package. It gives you the core RX experience and keeps the price and equipment balance straightforward.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the most athletic-looking RX, with 20-inch wheels, unique exterior details, and the available F Sport Handling package. It is the trim to consider if style matters most, but the content does not suggest a meaningful performance payoff.
• L: Pick this if you want the three-row, 7-passenger layout. It is the right choice when passenger flexibility matters more than the sportier look of the F Sport.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the Top Safety Pick result depends on the optional triple-beam LED headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,041 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,644, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $38,644 sits slightly below last year's $40,810.

That softer pricing suggests the RX is in a buyer-friendly phase right now, which can help you if you are shopping used but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current trend means you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim rather than broad market momentum.

The good news is that the RX still benefits from strong brand appeal and a reputation for comfort and reliability, which helps support demand. Well-kept examples should remain easier to move than less desirable luxury SUVs, especially if they have the right equipment and a clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX safe?

The 2022 Lexus RX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS, but only with the optional triple-beam LED headlights, and it earns four-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with five-star side crash results and four-star frontal crash and rollover ratings.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System 2.0+ is standard, and it brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign recognition, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, pre-collision braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, and intelligent high beams. Standard blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a head-up display, and Lexus Enform Safety Connect add more everyday protection.

The main caveat is that the top IIHS result depends on the optional headlights, so you should confirm that equipment if safety is a priority. The RX still offers a strong standard safety package, but that headlight detail matters when you compare listings.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 is a carryover year with minimal changes, including new colors and a standalone fog lamps option.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,416, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $38,644 average.
• It offers a familiar, comfort-focused RX experience with added standard safety updates.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $45,501, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $38,644 average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin with more modern tech and a fresher overall feel.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and proven ownership appeal, the 2022 is the sensible pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want a newer-feeling RX and can spend more, the 2023 is the upgrade to consider.
