Used 2022 Lexus RX for Sale near North Carolina

How much does the 2022 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 6.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,921 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus RX earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, luxury feel, and smooth ride, and they also highlight its advanced tech. The main trade-offs are its lack of pickup power and some concerns about gas mileage. For you, that means the RX fits best if you want a refined, comfort-first luxury SUV rather than something tuned for excitement. Good and great deals account for 39.3% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels comfortable, dependable, and easy to live with over time. The expert review also emphasizes Lexus’ reputation for reliability and describes the RX as a model with tried-and-true durability. The cost-effectiveness commentary reinforces that theme by calling out comfort, quality, and reliability as core strengths. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about whether the RX’s comfort-first setup and fuel economy match your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus RX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any RX you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the cabin electronics, infotainment controls, and overall interior condition, since ergonomics and interface usability are recurring concerns. It also makes sense to focus on how the vehicle drives in normal use, because comfort and refinement are central to the RX’s appeal.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas model is offered in base 350, F Sport, and L trim levels. The base and L trims share 18-inch wheels, bi-LED headlights, integrated LED turn signals, a rear spoiler, and LED daytime running lights and brake lights, while F Sport adds 20-inch wheels, black-housing outside mirrors, dark window trimming, F Sport badging, and a unique front fascia. The base trim is the one most likely to feel lightest on sportier visual and cabin upgrades.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a standard 3.5-liter V6 with 295 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System 2.0+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign recognition, lane-keeping assist and lane-tracing assist, a pre-collision system with cyclist- and pedestrian detection, and intelligent high beams. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a head-up display, and Lexus Enform Safety Connect are also standard. The RX only earns Top Safety Pick status with the optional triple-beam LED headlights.
• Infotainment: Standard infotainment is an 8-inch touchscreen, with a 12.3-inch version available. Wireless charging, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa compatibility, a WiFi hotspot, navigation with cloud-based updates, and premium audio systems are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 returns 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 combined. AWD or the three-row L model lowers those figures by 1 mpg across the board.

Which 2022 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus RX is offered in 3 trim levels: base 350, F Sport, and L.

Here's the short version:

• base 350: This is the most straightforward choice if you want the RX’s core comfort, luxury feel, and standard safety equipment without paying for the sportier appearance or the extra seating of the L.
• F Sport: This is the best fit if you want the most athletic-looking RX, with 20-inch wheels, unique exterior trim, and the sport-oriented cabin details. It suits you best if style matters more than sharper real-world performance.
• L: Choose this if you want the three-row, 7-passenger layout. It gives you the added seating flexibility that the other gas trims do not.

The RX’s standard safety package is strong across the lineup, but the Top Safety Pick result depends on the optional triple-beam LED headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,921 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,020, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $38,020 sits slightly below last year's $40,558.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the RX’s current position suggests steady demand rather than rapid appreciation. Its strong reputation and broad appeal should help support value, especially if you keep mileage and condition in check.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX safe?

The 2022 Lexus RX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS when equipped with the optional triple-beam LED headlights, and it earns four-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash tests and four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover resistance.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System 2.0+ is standard, and it brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign recognition, lane-keeping assist and lane-tracing assist, a pre-collision system with cyclist- and pedestrian detection, and intelligent high beams. Standard safety equipment also includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a head-up display, and Lexus Enform Safety Connect. The main caveat is that the RX misses the IIHS top-tier designation without the optional triple-beam LED headlights.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s a carryover year with comfort, reliability, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,952, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $38,020 average.
• It offers similar comfort and reliability with a few tech upgrades.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $44,853, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $38,020 average.
• It brings a redesign with stronger technology and dynamic upgrades.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and a broad used-car selection, the 2022 is the sensible default. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play. If you want the newer redesign and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the upgrade path.
