Overview

The LC is one of the boldest cars ever to wear a Lexus badge, but the automaker didn’t stop with just one version. Following the LC coupe, Lexus released a hybrid version of the car, as well as a convertible. The LC Hybrid, called the LC 500h, borrows much of the performance and excitement of the full-on gas-powered car, but it does so with a much more efficient V6 and electric motor combination. The 2022 LC 500h sees improvements that include revised suspension and steering systems, and a new Bespoke Build model.
Where the standard LC has to “make do” with a big V8, the LC hybrid gets a 3.5-liter V6 paired with an electric motor that combines for 354 horsepower. Lexus says the sprint to 60 mph from a standstill takes just 4.7 seconds, and the car can go on to a top speed of 155 mph. The LC does all of that while returning decent fuel economy of 26/34/29 mpg city/highway/combined.
Though it absolutely looks like a rager, the LC Hybrid is a touring car, through and through. It has quick acceleration and sharp handling, but the car is also plush and luxurious.
Lexus gives every LC Hybrid a long list of standard features that includes 20-inch forged wheels, puddle lamps, LED interior lighting, two USB ports, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, navigation, a 10.3-inch display, 12 speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM radio, HD Radio, and Lexus app functionality.
Neither the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have rated the LC in crash tests. This applies to the 2022 model as well as to other recent model years. Even so, the car comes packed with advanced driver aids that include blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-keep assist, lane-departure alerts, and steering assist. Buyers can add a head-up display and a parking-assist system.
Lexus isn’t big on options packages, but the LC is available with a few compelling upgrades. The Sport Package adds a glass roof, performance brake pads, parking assist, and eight-way power sport seats with Alcantara. The Dynamic Handling Package brings all of those features plus active rear steering, variable gear-ration steering, a speed-activated rear wing, carbon fiber door scuff plates, and 21-inch wheels.
The LC Hybrid is also available in what Lexus calls a “Bespoke Build,” which adds both the Sport and All-Weather Packages. In addition, the trim includes special Bespoke badging, a signed certificate of authenticity, exclusive wheels, and options for the wing spoiler, roof, and trim.
The 2022 Lexus LC Hybrid is on sale now with a starting price of $100,125, which includes a $1,075 destination charge. The standard LC starts at $94,125.
