Used 2022 Kia Telluride for Sale nearMontgomery, AL

How much does the 2022 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 14.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,199 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2022 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Telluride earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its value, luxurious-feeling features, and spacious interior. They also highlight its safety features and smooth ride, and many compare it favorably with more expensive brands. The main trade-offs are the lack of wireless Android Auto and a few build quality issues.

For a family-focused three-row SUV, that mix makes sense: you get broad appeal, strong equipment, and a premium feel without stepping into luxury-brand pricing. The market also shows 39.0% good or great deals, which supports the case for shopping carefully.

Is the 2022 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle people feel good about living with over time, especially because of its value, comfort, and overall dependability. The expert evaluation also describes it as a bargain with one of the best warranty programs you can buy, which helps reduce ownership anxiety. Kia’s complimentary one-year Kia Connect trial adds a little extra ownership value up front.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core durability and more about finding a well-kept example with no hidden condition issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace documentation. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the interior electronics, cabin materials, and any signs of uneven wear, since owner feedback mentions build quality concerns. It also makes sense to confirm that the features you want are actually present, because equipment varies by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Telluride continues in LX, S, EX, and SX trim, and the base version still leaves some desirable equipment for higher trims. The cabin is well laid out across the range, but the lower half of the interior uses glossy plastic that can look cheap.
• Powertrain: You get a 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and there is no hybrid alternative. AWD is available, and it adds a Lock mode that evenly splits power front to rear.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction. Highway Driving Assist is standard, and Smart Cruise Control-Curve is also standard for 2022.
• Infotainment: Every Telluride gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and voice recognition. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are no longer available, and the voice recognition system is not conversational.
• Fuel efficiency: The Telluride returned 21.1 mpg in testing, and the front-wheel-drive version is rated at 23 mpg.

Which 2022 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Telluride is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, S, EX, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it still gets the core Telluride formula: the roomy three-row layout, the V6 powertrain, and the standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, though it misses some of the added convenience features found higher up.
• S: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment without pushing into luxury pricing. It also gains a standard wireless smartphone charger this year, making it a smart middle-ground choice.
• EX: This trim is the better pick if you want a more upscale-feeling cabin and more of the Telluride’s premium character. It builds on the model’s strong interior presentation and family-friendly usability.
• SX: This is the top trim and the one to choose if you want the most features and the most polished experience. It can be paired with AWD, and the test vehicle’s available upgrades included the SX Prestige Package, a premium sound system, a head-up display, and surround-view monitoring.

Kia Drive Wise is standard, and Highway Driving Assist is included across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Telluride?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, so it’s a reasonable time to shop if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,199 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,701, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $26,701 sits slightly below last year's $31,163.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can be good news if you are buying now but less favorable if you plan to sell soon. A future seller may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if similar listings remain plentiful. Still, the Telluride’s strong reputation and broad appeal should help support demand better than many rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2022 Telluride earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection for the driver and front passenger. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it a Top Safety Pick designation.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia Drive Wise is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction. Highway Driving Assist is also standard, and Safe Exit Assist helps warn occupants about approaching traffic or cyclists when opening a door.

The main caveat is that it missed the higher Top Safety Pick+ award because of less-than-stellar headlight ratings. The standard safety suite is strong, but the headlight result is worth keeping in mind if you do a lot of night driving.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds more standard equipment, including a larger touchscreen and more driver-assistance tech.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,041, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $26,701 average.
• It keeps the same popular family-friendly formula with modest updates.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $32,115, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $26,701 average.
• It adds minor styling changes, new technologies, and X-Line/X-Pro trims with a more rugged attitude.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want strong value, broad equipment, and a well-regarded safety package. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better bargain; if you want newer styling and a more adventurous trim lineup, the 2023 is worth a look.
