How much does the 2022 Kia Stinger cost?

Prices have softened 3.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 461 listings available, which suggests a modest but workable amount of inventory for shoppers.

Is the 2022 Kia Stinger a good car?

Yes — 4.89/5 owners’ rating points to very strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 8.33/10. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the Stinger for its luxurious feel, fast performance, comfortable interior, great handling, and advanced technology. Those themes line up well with the car’s use case as a stylish performance sedan that still aims to deliver value and everyday comfort.

The main trade-offs are the cramped back seat and sluggish touchscreen response. The expert review also notes that the rear seat is tight and that the infotainment interface can feel slow at times.

With its rear-wheel-drive sports-sedan character and upscale design, it fits you best if you want something distinctive rather than conventional. The market also shows 34.1% good or great deals, which is a healthy sign for value-minded shoppers.

Is the 2022 Kia Stinger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a car that feels luxurious, fast, technologically advanced, and enjoyable to live with over time. It also highlights strong performance, comfortable seating, and great handling, which are the kinds of traits that usually support confidence in daily use.

The expert review adds that the Stinger’s driving manners have improved since its early years and that most of the growing pains are out of the way. It also emphasizes the model’s value and premium feel without premium-brand pricing.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a performance sedan can be more sensitive to prior maintenance and hard use, so service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Stinger?

At 72.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or modified. Focus on body condition, brake feel, tire wear, and signs of uneven panel gaps or repair work. Because this is a performance-oriented sedan, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT-Line uses a different lighting setup and 18-inch wheels, while GT trims add more LEDs and 19-inch alloys. GT2 models also get the most upscale touches, including Nappa leather, a head-up display, and a 360-degree surround view.
• Powertrain: The GT-Line uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. GT models keep the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 368 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque, and all models use an eight-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Drive Wise is the named suite, and standard features include lane keep assist, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, blind-spot monitoring plus collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert plus collision avoidance, forward-collision avoidance plus pedestrian/cyclist detection and junction-turning assist, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, lane follow assist, safe exit warning, and highway driving assist. Forward parking assist, a head-up display, and a 360-degree surround view are limited to GT2 models.
• Infotainment: All models get a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging, navigation with Uvo link, Uvo eServices remote commands, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, multi-device Bluetooth connectivity, and split-screen functionality.
• Fuel efficiency: GT-Line RWD returns 22 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. GT-Line AWD is rated at 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. GT RWD is rated at 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined, while GT AWD is rated at 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Kia Stinger trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Stinger is offered in 3 trim levels: GT-Line, GT1, GT2.

Here's the short version:

• GT-Line: This is the best-value choice if you want the new 300-hp turbo-four, the updated standard tech, and the lowest starting price. It gives you the core Stinger experience without pushing you into the pricier V6 trims.
• GT1: This is the middle ground if you want the stronger V6 and a more value-oriented step up from the GT-Line. It adds the bigger engine without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• GT2: This is the pick if you want the most luxury and tech, including Nappa leather, the head-up display, the 360-degree surround view, and the upgraded audio system. It suits you best if you want the most complete Stinger experience.

Safety-wise, the 2022 Stinger’s expanded standard driver-assistance suite is a major improvement, and GT2 still gets the most advanced convenience and visibility features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Stinger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 461 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,684, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Stinger's resale value?

The current average of $27,892 sits slightly below last year's $29,047.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean slower appreciation if you plan to sell later. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing momentum is currently working against resale gains, so condition and trim choice matter more.

Even so, the Stinger’s strong owner satisfaction and distinctive positioning should help it stay appealing to used-car shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Stinger safe?

The 2022 Kia Stinger earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard Drive Wise suite includes lane keep assist, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, blind-spot monitoring plus collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert plus collision avoidance, forward-collision avoidance plus pedestrian/cyclist detection and junction-turning assist, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, lane follow assist, safe exit warning, and highway driving assist.

GT2 models add forward parking assist, a head-up display, and a 360-degree surround view. That means lower trims still get a strong safety foundation, but the top trim adds the most convenience and visibility tech.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Stinger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a mild refresh with more power, updated design touches, and new technology features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $24,150, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $27,892 average.
• It offers an absolute value performance/luxury-car feel with multiple powertrain options.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed version with stronger standard tech and improved power, the 2022 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the smarter value play, especially if you can find one in excellent condition.
