You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, suspension, and overall condition. Pay close attention to how the vehicle feels in everyday driving, not just how it looks on the lot.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,229 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,417, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $22,417 sits slightly below last year's $24,893.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. A lower entry price can help offset some depreciation pressure, especially if demand stays steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,681, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,417 average.
• It offers a distinctive mix of technology, road manners, and broad capability.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger feature set and the better overall ownership signal, the 2022 is the cleaner choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the better value path, especially if you find one in excellent condition and can live with its older-spec tradeoffs.
