How much does the 2022 INFINITI QX80 cost?

Prices have softened 9.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2022 INFINITI QX80 a good car?

Generally — the 2022 INFINITI QX80 earns a 4.33/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

The QX80 is positioned as a full-size luxury SUV that leans into traditional upscale feel while adding a more modern feature set for 2022. That includes a widescreen 12.3-inch display, wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, a wireless charger, and standard advanced safety features. The trade-off is that the third row is cramped and the interior does not match the class leaders for packaging or freshness.

Cons: Cramped third row; interior not competitive for the class.

For shoppers who want a large luxury SUV with useful equipment and strong value, it makes sense to look closely. The market also shows 36.1% of listings as good or great deals, which supports a selective-buyer's approach.

Is the 2022 INFINITI QX80 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The QX80’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward, traditional layout and its emphasis on proven hardware rather than cutting-edge complexity. The 400-horsepower V8 and seven-speed automatic are described as smooth and robust, and the SUV’s value-oriented positioning suggests you’re getting a lot of equipment for the money.

The performance notes also point to a strong, linear power delivery and a transmission that shifts smoothly without hunting for gears. On the ownership side, Infiniti’s warranty coverage adds another layer of reassurance for used buyers.

Long-term ownership risk is still tied to age and complexity, so you should pay close attention to maintenance records and how the vehicle has been used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 INFINITI QX80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any candidate, even if it appears clean on the listing page. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the suspension, brakes, tires, electronics, and interior wear, since this is a large luxury SUV with a lot of equipment. Focus especially on condition consistency, because the QX80’s value proposition depends heavily on how well it has been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxe gives you the core luxury-SUV experience, while Premium Select adds more visual polish with 22-inch dark chrome wheels and matching exterior accents. Sensory is the most upscale choice, with quilted semi-aniline leather, heated and cooled front seats, advanced climate control, and the body motion-control system.
• Powertrain: You get a 400-horsepower, 5.6-liter V8 with 413 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Two-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is available across the lineup.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-departure prevention, forward-collision warning, backup collision intervention, a smart rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, driver attention alert, front knee airbags, and second-row outboard seat belt pre-tensioners.
• Infotainment: The 12.3-inch Infiniti InTouch display includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation with lane guidance, voice recognition, and connected services. A Bose 13-speaker premium sound system is standard, while the top trim gets a 17-speaker Performance Series Bose system.
• Fuel efficiency: The QX80 returns 14 mpg city, 20 highway, and 16 combined in 2WD form, or 13/19/15 mpg with 4WD.

Which 2022 INFINITI QX80 trim should I buy?

The 2022 INFINITI QX80 is offered in 3 trim levels: Luxe, Premium Select, and Sensory.

Here's the short version:

• Luxe: This is the value play because it already includes the V8, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and the 13-speaker Bose audio system. If you want the core QX80 experience without paying for extras, this is the trim to start with.
• Premium Select: This trim is mainly about appearance upgrades, adding 22-inch dark chrome wheels and dark chrome exterior accents. Choose it if you want a dressier look and are willing to pay more for style rather than major equipment gains.
• Sensory: This is the most luxurious version, adding quilted semi-aniline leather, heated and cooled front seats, advanced climate control, the 17-speaker Bose Performance Series system, and the body motion-control system. It suits you best if you want the most upscale QX80 and are willing to pay for it.

Safety equipment is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 INFINITI QX80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 678 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,468, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 INFINITI QX80's resale value?

The current average of $36,468 sits slightly below last year's $40,381.

That price movement suggests the QX80 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right number. For a seller, the current market indicates you may need to price competitively to move the vehicle, especially if it lacks desirable equipment or has visible wear.

The good news is that the model’s value-oriented positioning and strong equipment list can still support demand among shoppers looking for a large luxury SUV. If you maintain it well and keep mileage reasonable, you should have a better shot at preserving value than if you buy high and sell into a softer market.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 INFINITI QX80 safe?

The 2022 Infiniti QX80 earns three-star ratings for rollover resistance from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-departure prevention, forward-collision warning, backup collision intervention, a smart rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, driver attention alert, front knee airbags, and second-row outboard seat belt pre-tensioners.

The main caveat is that the QX80’s crashworthiness has not been fully rated by NHTSA, and the rollover result is the only published score mentioned here. That means you should lean heavily on the standard driver-assistance features and make sure they’re functioning properly on any used example you consider.

Should I buy a 2022 INFINITI QX80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds a 12.3-inch display with wireless Apple CarPlay and a broader standard tech and safety package.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,861, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $36,468 average.
• It offers a more rugged, truck-like luxury-SUV character.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more modern-feeling QX80, the 2022 is the stronger pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the cheaper path and still delivers the same basic full-size luxury-SUV formula.
