Used 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz for Sale nearColumbus, OH

How much does the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz cost?

Prices have softened 7.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,083 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns a 4.6/5 user rating, and our experts give it an 8/10 overall score, with an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the unique design, versatile features, comfortable interior, smooth driving experience, and impressive fuel economy. The main trade-offs are the towing-capacity disappointment some reviewers mention and the higher-than-expected price.

That fits a buyer who wants a compact, car-like pickup alternative rather than a traditional truck, especially if you value easier parking and a more distinctive design. 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers also describe it as dependable in everyday use, with praise for its comfortable interior, smooth driving experience, and versatile features that make it easy to count on. The expert review also points to a strong warranty and free routine maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership stress.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about whether the truck’s smaller size and capability limits still fit your needs over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on interior wear, infotainment operation, and any signs that the truck has been used harder than its size suggests. Pay close attention to condition if you plan to use it for hauling, towing, or frequent family duty.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE trim uses the standard 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims add the 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The top Limited trim also adds leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, AWD, and the turbo engine.
• Powertrain: Every Santa Cruz gets a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The naturally aspirated version makes 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, while the turbocharged version makes 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. The base engine can be FWD or AWD, while the turbo engine is AWD only.
• Safety package: Hyundai includes standard forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane-follow assist, rear-seat reminder, and a driver-attention monitor. Blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit assist, a surround-view camera system, and Highway Driving Assist are available on higher trim levels.
• Infotainment: The standard 8-inch touchscreen includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims can add a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and Blue Link telematics with smartwatch and Google Assistant connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The base naturally aspirated engine with FWD is rated at 23 mpg combined, including 21 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The AWD turbo engine is rated at 22 mpg combined, including 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

Which 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL Activity Package, and SEL Premium.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it makes the Santa Cruz’s core idea accessible with the standard engine, standard safety tech, and the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and do not need the extra comfort or tech upgrades.
• SEL Activity Package: This trim is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience and a more polished feel without jumping all the way to the top end. It is the trim to focus on if you want a better balance of equipment and price.
• SEL Premium: This is the right pick if you want the more upscale equipment and are willing to pay for it. It suits you best if you care most about the added comfort and tech features rather than keeping the purchase as affordable as possible.

Higher trims also unlock more of Hyundai’s safety package, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit assist, a surround-view camera system, and Highway Driving Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,083 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,431, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz's resale value?

The current average of $22,431 sits slightly below last year's $24,281.

That softer pricing suggests the Santa Cruz has already moved into a more buyer-friendly part of its market cycle. For a future seller, that can mean less upside if prices stay under pressure, especially if your truck is not especially well equipped or well kept.

On the other hand, the model’s distinctive positioning and broad owner satisfaction can help support demand from shoppers who want something different from a conventional pickup. Well-maintained examples with desirable equipment should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz does not have IIHS or NHTSA crash-test ratings listed here.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai makes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane-follow assist, rear-seat reminder, and a driver-attention monitor standard. Higher trims add blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit assist, a surround-view camera system, and Highway Driving Assist.

The main caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, so you should check carefully which trim you are considering.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out as Hyundai’s first U.S. pickup and a compact, car-like alternative to a conventional truck.

The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive version of the Santa Cruz formula and you value its car-like feel, the 2022 is the right path to consider. If you are more price-sensitive, shop carefully for a well-priced listing and focus on condition, because the market already shows some softness and the best examples will be the ones that hold value best.
