How much does the 2022 Genesis G80 cost?

Is the 2022 Genesis G80 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Genesis G80 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

The G80 is a midsize luxury sedan with a quiet cabin, a great ride quality, and premium interior materials, so it fits you well if comfort and refinement matter most. It also gives you a straightforward luxury-sedan setup with standard rear-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive, plus a choice of turbocharged four-cylinder or twin-turbo V6 power.

The main trade-offs are its unintuitive technology and its polarizing design. Even so, the overall package is strong for shoppers who want an upscale sedan that feels polished rather than flashy.

38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Genesis G80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Genesis G80 is presented as a well-built luxury sedan with a reputation for quality and reliability, and its standard warranty coverage adds confidence for used buyers. It also comes with complimentary maintenance and service valet, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

Its standard powertrain and chassis setup are described as smooth, quiet, and controlled, which supports the impression of a car built to age well. For used shoppers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained carefully, especially given the complexity of its luxury features.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Genesis G80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or more equipment. Focus on overall condition, because luxury features, trim materials, and electronics can matter as much as mechanical wear in a car like this.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 2.5T gives you the core luxury experience, but higher trims add more equipment and a richer cabin presentation. The base setup is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you care about upscale touches.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. The four-cylinder is the efficiency-minded choice, while the V6 brings stronger thrust and a more effortless feel.
• Safety package: The G80 includes a broad standard safety suite with adaptive cruise control, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road edge detection, lane-following assist, and driver attention warning. Those features are standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses a 14.5-inch high-definition display, and standard smartphone integration includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interface can be finicky, so make sure you test it yourself before buying.
• Fuel efficiency: Four-cylinder models are rated at 23 mpg city and 32 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive, or 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway with all-wheel drive. V6 models are rated at 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

Which 2022 Genesis G80 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Genesis G80 is offered in 6 trim levels: 2.5T RWD, 2.5T AWD, 2.5T Advanced, 2.5T Advanced AWD, 2.5T Prestige, and 2.5T Prestige AWD.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5T RWD: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core G80 experience at the lowest price. It suits you if you want the luxury look and feel without paying for extra equipment you may not need.
• 2.5T AWD: Choose this if you want added traction without moving up the trim ladder. It is the better fit if you live where weather or road conditions make all-wheel drive worthwhile.
• 2.5T Advanced: This is the best-value trim if you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping to the top of the range. It adds more equipment and is the sweet spot for most used buyers.
• 2.5T Advanced AWD: Pick this if you want the Advanced trim’s added equipment and also want all-wheel drive. It makes sense if you want a more balanced all-weather luxury sedan.
• 2.5T Prestige: This is for you if you want the richest 2.5T cabin presentation and the most upscale feel short of the V6 models. It is the choice for shoppers who care most about comfort and premium details.
• 2.5T Prestige AWD: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped four-cylinder G80 with all-wheel drive. It is the right pick if you want maximum comfort and traction without stepping into the V6.

All G80 trims include the same standard safety suite, so you do not need to move up for core driver-assistance coverage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Genesis G80?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 254 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,609, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Genesis G80's resale value?

The current average of $30,609 sits slightly below last year's $33,312.

That price movement suggests the G80 has already absorbed some of its early depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you own one, the current market shows that well-priced examples still attract attention, especially when they are clean and well equipped.

For a future seller, the key is to buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition so you are not competing from a weak starting point. A lower entry price today can help cushion resale losses later if the market stays steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Genesis G80 safe?

The 2022 Genesis G80 earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earns five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for both the 2.5T and 3.5T models.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

You get a standard safety suite that includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road edge detection, lane-following assist, driver attention warning, parking distance warning, and stability and traction systems. Those features are standard on every G80, so you do not need to shop a higher trim for core protection.

Should I buy a 2022 Genesis G80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a quiet cabin, great ride quality, and premium interior materials with standard safety coverage.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,593, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $30,609 average.
• The redesign brought a bolder, more upscale cabin and a stronger luxury identity.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the stronger market context, solid deal availability, and the same upscale comfort that defines the G80. If you are focused mainly on price, the 2021 is the better value play, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
