Used 2022 Genesis G80 for Sale nearSaint Petersburg, FL

Is the 2022 Genesis G80 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Genesis G80 earns a 5/5 from owners and an 8.33/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

The 2022 Genesis G80 is a midsize luxury sedan with either a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, and it pairs that with a quiet cabin, a great ride, and premium interior materials. That makes it especially appealing if you want comfort and refinement in a traditional luxury-sedan package, with standard rear-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive to suit your traction needs.

The trade-offs are that the technology can be unintuitive and the design may not be for everyone. Even so, the combination of upscale materials, smooth road manners, and available AWD gives it a strong identity in the class.

Good and great deals account for 34.6% of listings, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Genesis G80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Genesis G80 is presented as a well-built luxury sedan with a reputation for quality and reliability, and its standard warranty coverage adds confidence for used buyers. The powertrain lineup is straightforward, and the car’s comfort-focused setup suggests it is built for steady daily use rather than constant drama.

The performance notes point to a smooth, controlled ride and a direct driving feel, while the ownership package includes three years/36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance and service valet. That kind of coverage can reduce early ownership friction and help you budget more predictably.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the core hardware and more about making sure the car was maintained properly and that any technology or trim-specific equipment still works as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Genesis G80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the electronics, interior condition, and any signs of cosmetic wear, especially if the car has higher mileage or luxury options. It is also smart to confirm that all driver-assistance and infotainment features operate correctly, since those systems are a big part of the G80’s appeal.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 2.5T starts with a strong luxury foundation, while higher trims add more equipment and polish. The Prestige package brings Nappa leather seating, a microfiber suede headliner and pillars, and carbon-fiber trim, which makes the cabin feel more upscale if you want the richest interior presentation.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 300-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 375-horsepower 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. The four-cylinder is the efficiency-minded choice, while the V6 delivers the stronger punch and comes standard with AWD.
• Safety package: The G80 includes a full suite of standard driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road edge detection, lane-following assist, and driver attention warning. Those systems are standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a 14.5-inch high-definition display, with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and native navigation included. The interface can be finicky, so make sure you test it yourself before buying.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder models are rated at 23 mpg city/32 mpg highway/26 mpg combined with RWD and 22 mpg city/30 mpg highway/25 mpg combined with AWD. The V6 is rated at 17 mpg city/26 mpg highway/20 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Genesis G80 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Genesis G80 is offered in 4 trim levels: 2.5T, 2.5T Advanced, 2.5T Prestige, and 3.5T Sport.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5T: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the G80’s core luxury experience without stretching the budget. It gives you the quiet cabin, premium materials, and standard safety equipment that define the car.
• 2.5T Advanced: This is the trim to consider if you want more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the V6. It builds on the base car with more equipment and is the most natural middle-ground pick for many shoppers.
• 2.5T Prestige: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the four-cylinder model. The added luxury touches make the cabin feel more special, and it is the right fit if interior ambiance matters most.
• 3.5T Sport: Pick this if you want the strongest performance and standard AWD. The V6 adds real thrust, and this trim suits you best if you care more about acceleration and a more forceful driving feel than fuel economy.

All G80 models include the full standard safety suite, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The G80 comes standard with 10 airbags, LATCH anchors, three-point outboard seatbelts, and energy-absorbing front seats with anti-whiplash head restraints. Standard active safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist with road edge detection, lane-following assist, and driver attention warning.

Should I buy a 2022 Genesis G80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a quiet cabin, great ride quality, and premium interior materials with available AWD.

Consider the 2021 if:

• The redesign brought bold styling, upscale materials, and a choice of four-cylinder or V6 power.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better pick if you want the more mature version of this redesigned G80 with strong safety, comfort, and value signals. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, the 2021 can still make sense because it delivers the same basic redesign and luxury appeal at a lower entry point.
