How much does the 2022 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,253 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare trims, equipment, and condition.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Ford Bronco earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, performance, stylish design, comfort, tech features, and spaciousness. That lines up with the Bronco’s use case as a rugged SUV that still works for everyday driving, especially if you want something trail-ready without giving up road manners.

The main trade-offs are value and equipment packaging: some buyers feel it is overpriced, and too many essential features are optional. Even so, 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people expect to enjoy over time, with repeated praise for its performance, off-road capability, comfort, and spaciousness. The expert evaluation also reinforces that it is built to handle demanding use while still remaining manageable on pavement, which supports the idea that it can be a dependable long-term companion if maintained well.

The Bronco’s rugged design and available off-road hardware suggest it is built for hard use, so your biggest ownership risk is finding one that has been driven or modified aggressively.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Bronco has seen trail use or has been modified. Focus on overall condition, signs of off-road wear, and whether the equipment you want is actually present on the specific truck you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans a wide range of equipment, from the base truck to higher-spec versions with more off-road hardware and convenience features. Base-trim buyers should pay close attention to feature gaps, especially because advanced safety equipment is not standard.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, or a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 with 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder can be paired with a seven-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic, while the V6 uses the 10-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control. Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the optional Mid package. Front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are offered with the High package while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: The Bronco uses Sync 4 with quick responses and sharp graphics. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and there is an available wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The two-door with the base four-cylinder engine is estimated at 20 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. The V6 ranges between 19 mpg combined and as low as 17 mpg combined for the Badlands or Sasquatch package.

Which 2022 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2022 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and Everglades.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco’s core off-road character at the lowest starting price, but you should expect the fewest standard comfort and safety features. It makes the most sense if you plan to build up from there and are comfortable keeping the equipment list simple.
• Big Bend: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability without jumping too far up the price ladder. It’s a smart middle ground if you want a Bronco that feels less bare-bones but still stays relatively accessible.
• Black Diamond: Choose this if you want a stronger off-road focus than the Big Bend and expect to use the Bronco in rougher conditions. It suits buyers who care more about capability than luxury.
• Outer Banks: This trim leans more toward comfort and style, making it a better fit if you want a Bronco that feels a bit more polished for daily driving. It’s a good choice if you value appearance and road manners alongside trail ability.
• Badlands: This is the trim to target if you want serious off-road hardware and are willing to pay for it. It’s the right pick for buyers who plan to use the Bronco’s capability often and want a more purpose-built setup.
• Wildtrak: This is the high-performance off-road choice for shoppers who want one of the most capable versions in the lineup. It’s best for buyers who want maximum trail ability without stepping all the way to the top specialty model.
• Everglades: This is the most specialized trim, built for swamp trekking and deep water with an intake snorkel, a Warn winch, and 35-inch mud-terrain tires. It’s the right choice if you want the most extreme factory off-road setup in the standard Bronco range.

The safety package is worth paying attention to because advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, and several key systems are bundled into optional packages rather than included across the board.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Bronco?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,253 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,526, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $37,526 sits slightly below last year's $41,243.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled from a year ago, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are less likely in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the Bronco’s broad appeal and strong demand should still help support interest, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2022 Ford Bronco earns Good ratings from IIHS in frontal, side, and roof strength tests, and Acceptable ratings for head restraints and seats. The four-door has received four-star ratings for frontal crash protection from NHTSA, and both the four- and two-door Broncos have three-star rollover ratings.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control.

The key caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to verify which package a used Bronco has before you buy.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds the Everglades and expands the lineup to seven trims, giving you more choice across budgets and off-road priorities.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $36,501, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $37,526 average.
• It focuses on capability first, with two powertrains, manual or automatic transmission choices, and standard four-wheel drive.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,333, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $37,526 average.
• It broadens the lineup to nine models and keeps the Bronco’s highway-friendly off-road character.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of price, inventory, and model-year breadth, the 2022 is the best place to start. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 can save you money while keeping the core Bronco formula intact. If you want more configuration choices and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is worth a look.
