Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, smooth ride, and useful features like the backup camera and electronic mirrors. The 2022 Silverado 2500HD also fits well if you want a heavy-duty truck with serious capability and a more modern, feature-rich cabin. Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes dependable performance, with praise for its powerful drivetrain and smooth everyday use. That kind of response suggests the truck can be a confident long-term choice if you keep up with maintenance and buy a well-kept example.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying extra for a truck that has been worked hard, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the truck’s condition and maintenance records. Because this is a heavy-duty pickup, pay close attention to signs of hard use, especially if the truck was used for towing or hauling. A careful test drive and a close look at wear items can help you separate a clean, well-kept truck from one that has been worked hard.

If you find a listing below $43,609, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $43,857 sits slightly below last year's $47,232.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well the truck is maintained and documented. Heavy-duty trucks can hold appeal when they’re clean, well-equipped, and clearly cared for, especially if they have a strong ownership reputation. If you plan to sell later, keeping mileage, condition, and service history in good shape will matter.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $39,698, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $43,857 average.
• It offers more configuration flexibility for buyers who want broader choice.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of owner satisfaction, cleaner inventory, and a more modern-feeling heavy-duty truck. If your top priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the better value path, especially if you find one with the right configuration and condition.
