Used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for Sale nearSanta Barbara, CA

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 10.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,744 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy set of options to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 earns a 4.28/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful engines, smooth ride, good value, fuel efficiency, and comfort. The refreshed cabin also stands out as a major improvement, especially if you care about a more modern interior and stronger tech.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the ZR2 isn’t as powerful as some rivals, the old interior design remains in WT and Custom trims, and Google Built-in isn’t necessarily an upgrade over Chevrolet’s previous setup.

For you, that means this truck makes the most sense if you want a full-size pickup that balances capability with everyday comfort and updated tech. Good and great deals account for 34.4% of listings, so there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.28/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as powerful, smooth, comfortable, and good value, with several calling out the Duramax and 6.2L engines positively. The expert evaluation also points to a truck that feels composed and well sorted in daily use, with a ride that stays smooth and a drivetrain that performs cleanly.

Chevrolet also includes a maintenance perk on the ZR2 test truck’s ownership story: the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the truck you choose has been maintained well, since higher-output trims and heavy-duty use can magnify wear over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a truck that may have been used for towing, off-roading, or daily work. Focus on cabin condition, feature operation, and signs of hard use, since the refreshed interior is one of the biggest reasons to choose this model year.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Starting with the LT trim, the refreshed truck gets a new interior, while WT and Custom keep the older cabin design. The ZR2 adds factory-ready off-road hardware and a more specialized setup, so you should decide whether you want the updated interior or the more rugged hardware.
• Powertrain: The Silverado offers multiple powertrain options, and the available Duramax turbodiesel is highlighted for its efficiency and towing strength. The 6.2-liter V8 in the ZR2 delivers strong sound and output, but it is not the class leader for outright power.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard, and blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available upgrades on lower trims. Teen Driver is included on every Silverado, and High Country can add Super Cruise.
• Infotainment: The Silverado uses a 13.4-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM with 360L, connected services, WiFi hotspot capability, navigation, Google Built-in, and a new interface. The system is larger and more capable, though it can be slower and less intuitive than before.
• Fuel efficiency: The ZR2 returned 16.3 mpg in mixed driving, while the official EPA combined rating is 14 mpg.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in 7 trim levels: Work Truck (WT), LT, Silverado ZR2, High Country, Silverado Limited (LTD), LT TrailBoss, and Custom.

Here's the short version:

• Work Truck (WT): This is the most basic choice, and the main reason to buy it is price and utility. If you want a straightforward work truck and can live without the refreshed cabin, it gets the job done.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it gets the new interior starting with this level, along with the updated tech and a more modern feel overall.
• Custom: This trim sits above WT, but the older interior design remains, so it makes the most sense if you want a step up without chasing the newest cabin updates.
• LT TrailBoss: If you want a more affordable alternative to the ZR2, this is the smart pick. It gives up some attitude and capability, but it keeps the swanky new interior and can be paired with the available turbodiesel for a strong mix of efficiency and fun.
• Silverado ZR2: Choose this if you want the most specialized off-road version. It adds serious hardware for desert running and rough terrain, but it is not the strongest choice for towing, hauling, or outright power.
• High Country: This is the luxury-oriented choice, and it is the trim that can add Super Cruise if you want hands-free highway driving on approved roads.
• Silverado Limited (LTD): This is the carryover version from the first half of the year, so it mainly matters if you’re comparing early- and late-build trucks.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert remain available upgrades on lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,744 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,096, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's resale value?

The current average of $34,096 sits slightly below last year's $37,909.

That price movement suggests the truck has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. For a seller, that means your best outcome will usually come from a well-kept truck with desirable equipment and a clean history rather than from waiting for the market to rebound sharply.

Because the model still has broad appeal, especially with buyers who want capability and comfort in one package, demand should remain reasonably healthy. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.28/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safe?

The 2022 Silverado Limited (LTD) got a four-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and earned unimpressive results in Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) testing.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all 2022 Silverado models, and it includes the basic driver-assistance and collision-avoidance features you’d expect on a modern truck. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available upgrades on lower trims, and every Silverado also includes Teen Driver. High Country can add Super Cruise, which brings hands-free driving on approved limited-access highways with driver monitoring.

The main caveat is that crash-test data is unavailable for the updated 2022 Silverado, so you should pay close attention to the specific truck’s equipment and history rather than assuming every version is equally protected.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.28/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The refreshed cabin and updated tech make this year feel much more modern.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,873, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $34,096 average.
• It offers broad appeal with multiple powertrain choices and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,896, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $34,096 average.
• It adds power upgrades for the optional Duramax diesel and a new ZR2 Bison off-road trim.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated cabin quality, modern tech, and current-market pricing, the 2022 is the strongest all-around pick. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want newer updates and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the step up to consider.
