Used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale near Connecticut

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 12.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,824 listings available, which gives you a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.78/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, fuel efficiency, and spaciousness, and they also like the smooth ride and modern features. That lines up with the overview: you get a comfortable, straightforward small SUV with useful tech and a freshened appearance. The trade-offs are that it can feel basic compared with other SUVs, and the lack of programmable driver’s seats may matter to some shoppers. Market-wise, 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still attractive options if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for comfort and value that suggests people feel good about living with it over time. The expert review also describes it as easy to use and straightforward, which supports the sense that it should be simple to count on day to day. Chevy’s three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain coverage add some reassurance for used buyers. For a used purchase, the main long-term risk is that it is more about competence than standout durability bragging rights, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, because accident-free listings are common but not guaranteed. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, how the transmission feels on a test drive, and whether the tech and safety features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RS adds black exterior trim, darkened 19-inch wheels, a black interior with red stitching, and a model-specific shift knob, while most trim levels get cloth seats as standard equipment and perforated leather is available. It gives the Equinox more personality, but the interior can feel subdued.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive. It has useful low-end torque for city driving, but it can feel coarse and less eager at higher speeds.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, forward collision warning, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, a Safety Alert Seat, and Teen Driver. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, surround-view camera, front and rear park assist, and automatic parking assist.
• Infotainment: Standard tech includes a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a built-in 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Higher trims get an 8-inch touchscreen and a 4.2-inch instrument-cluster screen, and navigation plus a Bose 7-speaker audio system are available.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 28 mpg combined, 26 mpg city, and 31 mpg highway, while AWD models lose 1 mpg in each category.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Equinox formula at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the basics and plan to add little beyond the standard tech and safety equipment.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it sits in the middle of the lineup and should balance price with equipment better than the base model. If you want a sensible used Equinox without stretching to the top end, this is the trim to target first.
• RS: This trim adds the blacked-out styling treatment, darkened 19-inch wheels, and a more distinctive cabin with red stitching. Choose it if you care more about appearance and a sportier look than maximum practicality.
• Premier: This is the top trim, so it’s the one to consider if you want the most upscale version of the Equinox and are willing to pay for it.

Some safety features are optional rather than standard, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, surround-view camera, front and rear park assist, and automatic parking assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,824 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,858, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $18,858 sits slightly below last year's $21,519.

That drop suggests the Equinox has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand from value-focused shoppers. For a future seller, that also means you should expect pricing pressure unless your vehicle is especially clean, well-equipped, and well maintained. The good news is that the model’s broad appeal and practical reputation can still support interest when your vehicle is presented well.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox earns Good IIHS scores in most crash tests, but it received a Marginal rating in the updated side crash test and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover crash tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, forward collision warning, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, a Safety Alert Seat, and Teen Driver. Optional safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, surround-view camera, front and rear park assist, and automatic parking assist. The Marginal side-crash result is the main caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds revised styling, wireless smartphone integration, and available parking-assist tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,126, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,858 average.
• It adds a little extra power, a more sophisticated braking system, and new paint colors.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because it’s cheaper and still brings the updated tech and styling that matter most. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly fresher version with incremental improvements, the 2023 is the cleaner upgrade path. For most used shoppers, the 2022 is the primary recommendation, while the 2023 makes sense if you’re focused on the newest available example and can stretch the budget.
