Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW X7?

It looks like a buyer’s market right now, with solid deal availability and a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

• Deal availability: 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,142 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.29% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,899, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW X7's resale value?

The current average of $41,899 sits slightly below last year's $49,463.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future buyers but may temper what you recover when you sell. If you buy at a favorable price now, you may have less downside exposure later than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still help support values, especially for vehicles with desirable equipment and clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW X7 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $36,456, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $41,899 average.
• It emphasizes strong handling and a driver-focused feel.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $53,619, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $41,899 average.
• It adds a refreshed front end and newer iDrive technology.

The bottom line:

The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want strong owner satisfaction, a favorable price trend, and plenty of listings to compare. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want the newer refresh and can pay more, the 2023 is the upgrade route.
