Is the 2022 BMW X5 a good car?

Yes — owners give it 5/5, which points to very strong satisfaction with this model year.

The review summary highlights comfort, performance, and a luxurious feel as the most common positives. You also see repeated praise for the smooth ride, strong engine, and high-quality interior, which fits a luxury midsize SUV that aims to balance daily usability with driving enjoyment. Is the 2022 BMW X5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with owners repeatedly describing the X5 as comfortable and trouble-free in day-to-day use. That kind of feedback matters if you plan to keep the vehicle for the long haul, because it suggests the ownership experience has been positive enough for many drivers to recommend it confidently.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that ownership costs can rise as the vehicle ages, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 BMW X5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the vehicle’s condition matches the listing. Pay close attention to signs of wear, feature operation, and any evidence that the vehicle has been repaired or modified. Because this model can be expensive to own as it ages, condition should matter as much as mileage when you compare listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW X5?

It looks like a buyer’s market, with strong deal availability and a meaningful price drop from last year.

• Deal availability: 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,510 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,938, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $35,938 sits slightly below last year's $41,917.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you later sell, the fact that the model has already absorbed a notable share of depreciation may help limit some of the early value drop that new owners usually face. Strong demand for well-kept examples can also support pricing, especially when the vehicle presents cleanly and has a good history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $31,510, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $35,938 average.
• It offers a family-friendly mix of power, refinement, and everyday usefulness.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market value play, the 2022 is the better target because pricing has eased and inventory is healthy. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition with the features you want.
