Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW X1?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 971 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.50% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,253, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW X1's resale value?

The current average of $23,253 sits slightly below last year's $24,350.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well below the current average matters because your starting price will have a bigger effect on your eventual return. Strong condition and clean history should help you preserve value better than a higher-mileage or accident-damaged example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW X1 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,576, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $23,253 average.
• The 2023 brings an all-new design with more cargo space and standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the better value and a broader pool of listings to shop. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer-generation package, the 2023 is the better alternative. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2022 is the smarter starting point; for shoppers prioritizing the latest design and added utility, the 2023 is worth the premium.
