Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW X1?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

What is the 2022 BMW X1's resale value?

The current average of $23,153 sits slightly below last year's $24,426.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, buying well matters more than usual because your exit price will likely track the broader market closely.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW X1 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,428, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $23,153 average.
• The redesigned X1 adds more capability and cargo space.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2022 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with decent deal availability. If you want the newer-generation experience and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is the better upgrade path; if price matters most, the 2022 is the one to target first.
