Used 2022 BMW 2 Series for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2022 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 10.26% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 652 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 BMW 2 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2022 BMW 2 Series earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. It is a redesigned entry-level luxury car with a refreshed look, larger proportions, increased power, and more performance than seems reasonable for a subcompact. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.

That said, the trade-offs are clear: the manual transmission is gone, the back seat is cramped, and the driving experience is described as disconnected. If you want a small luxury car with strong tech and a stylish, performance-forward personality, it fits that brief well; if rear-seat space or driver engagement matters more, you may want to look elsewhere. Good and great deals account for 34.7% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 BMW 2 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2 Series is positioned as a redesigned model with more power and a modern feature set, and its expert coverage emphasizes that it is well engineered and broadly refined. Its performance content also notes that the transmission is calibrated for smooth shifts and that the car is comfortably controlled.

The cost-effectiveness coverage also points to a relatively modest year-over-year price increase for a redesigned model, which can be a positive sign for ownership planning. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the car’s tight rear seat and detached driving feel will still suit your needs after the novelty wears off.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 BMW 2 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.8% — always verify the vehicle history report. You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the car’s condition, equipment operation, and any signs of prior damage or heavy wear.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 230i Coupe is the more accessible choice, while the M240i xDrive Coupe adds a more performance-oriented look and standard M-specific hardware. The base coupe’s equipment is solid, but some comfort and appearance items remain optional.
• Powertrain: The 230i Coupe uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, while the M240i xDrive Coupe uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. The automatic transmission is the only transmission offered.
• Safety package: Active Driving Assistant is standard and includes active blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and speed limit information. Adaptive cruise control is also standard, while adaptive front LED headlights, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, and a 360-degree surround view are available.
• Infotainment: A standard 8.8-inch touchscreen is paired with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, and BMW Live Cockpit Plus. A 10.25-inch display is available, and the optional Live Cockpit Professional adds a 12.3-inch fully digital display.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2022 BMW 2 Series trim should I buy?

The 2022 BMW 2 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 230i Coupe and M240i xDrive Coupe.

Here's the short version:

• 230i Coupe: This is the better-value choice if you want the redesigned 2 Series experience without paying for the more powerful six-cylinder. It still gives you the refreshed styling, standard tech, and the core safety suite, and it leaves room to add options if you want more comfort or convenience.
• M240i xDrive Coupe: This is the pick if you want the strongest performance and the most aggressive standard hardware. It adds the turbo-six, xDrive, and more performance-focused equipment, so it suits you best if you care more about speed and handling than keeping the price in check.

The standard safety package is Active Driving Assistant, and it brings active blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, speed limit information, rearview camera, park distance control, and adaptive cruise control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW 2 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 652 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,925, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $24,964 sits slightly below last year's $27,819. That kind of price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the softer current pricing means your future resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Redesigned for 2022, it brings a refreshed look, larger proportions, increased power, and more performance than seems reasonable for a subcompact.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,338, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $24,964 average.
• It offers multiple body styles in a compact, entry-level BMW package.

The bottom line: If you want the newer design, stronger standard tech, and a more current market position, the 2022 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path.
