The 2022 Audi e-tron S is the sportier version of the e-tron, Audi’s all-electric crossover. Though it has the same battery pack as the base e-tron, the added output of the S model yields a shorter range of 208 miles (compared to the base model’s 222 miles). The e-tron’s SUV layout provides 56.4 cubic feet of total cargo space with the rear seats folded. With the rear seats in use, the e-tron S provides 28.5 cubic feet of cargo space. The e-tron S is nearly two inches wider than the base model, accommodating a wider track and tires.

Trims for the e-tron S are Premium Plus and Prestige. The Premium Plus includes leather upholstery, heated front seats, 20-inch alloy wheels, Matrix-design LED headlights, a fully digital instrument panel (Audi’s Digital Cockpit), and a dual-screen center console, with vehicle controls in the lower screen and the infotainment system in the upper screen. That upper screen also controls Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay.

Moving up to the Prestige trim adds features such as an LED interior ambient lighting package, a head-up display, power soft-closing doors, rear side window sunshades, and the clever intersection assist, which can warn the driver of oncoming traffic from either side.

Audi offers a Black Optics Package that provides 21-inch alloy wheels on the Premium Plus trim and 22-inch wheels on the Prestige trim.

The Audi e-tron S comes equipped with a 95-kWh battery pack, powering dual motors in a Quattro all-wheel drive layout. These motors make a combined 429 horsepower and 596 pound-feet of torque. The e-tron S has a boost function allowing for short bursts at 496 horsepower and 718 pound-feet of torque. With boost mode engaged, the e-tron S can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. The e-tron S also features an adaptive air suspension and orange-painted brake calipers.

Standard driver assistance features on the e-tron S include automatic emergency braking, forward-collision avoidance, automatic high beams, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also comes standard with adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and a 360-degree parking camera system.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Audi e-tron S is $84,800 for the Premium Plus trim. The Prestige trim starts at $89,800. The battery pack in the e-tron S is backed by an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
