Audi offers driving enthusiasts an engaging, refined two-door car in the form of the 2022 S5. A higher-performance version of the Audi A5, the S5 is available as a coupe and a convertible, the latter dubbed “cabriolet.” It visually stands out from the A5 coupe and cabriolet with standard LED matrix lighting, hexagonal grille insert, and larger lower intakes.

For 2022, the S5 gains standard 19-inch alloy wheels, new carbon-fiber interior accents, an updated infotainment system, and new driver-assistance features. Trims for the S5 are Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige.

The Premium trim includes combination leather-and-Alcantara upholstery with diamond stitching, and bucket seats to keep you firmly in place during hard cornering. The Premium also comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and lane-departure warning.

Moving up to the Premium Plus adds a wireless charging pad, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel, a 360-degree camera system, and adaptive cruise control that can follow the flow of traffic. The range-topping Prestige trim adds startup and shut-down animations for the head- and taillights, navigation, a head-up display, and a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system.

The S5 is powered by a turbocharged, intercooled 3.0-liter V6 engine, which makes 354 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to Quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) through an eight-speed automatic transmission with manual tap-shift mode. The S5 also has a drive mode selector, with Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, and Individual (custom) modes. Each mode has unique tuning for the throttle response, transmission mapping, and steering feel. Audi quotes zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds for the S5 coupe and 4.8 seconds for the S5 cabriolet.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Audi S5 is $54,945 for the Premium coupe. The Premium cabriolet starts at $63,045, which is the same price as the range-topping Prestige coupe. The Prestige cabriolet starts at $71,145. The Audi S5 is backed by a four-year, 50,000-mile limited and powertrain warranty.
