The current average of $26,890 sits slightly below last year's $30,232.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless the market tightens again. If you plan to sell later, buying well now matters because your eventual resale value will depend heavily on how much room you leave between purchase price and market average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi Q5 Sportback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.05% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better pick if you want a strong mix of value, inventory, and owner satisfaction right now.
