The 2022 Audi Q5 Sportback is the dynamic fastback variant of the Q5 compact luxury SUV. It presents a sleek profile on a crossover frame, without blasphemously leveraging the “coupe” name (we’re looking at you Porsche and Mercedes-Benz). The Q5 Sportback was introduced for the 2021 model year. It carries over into the 2022 model year unchanged.

The Q5 Sportback comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and S-Line exterior design cues. Inside, the Sportback features sport front bucket seats, the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel, and a 10.1-inch MMI infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Q5 Sportback also gets a standard Integrated Toll Module (ITM) toll transponder integrated into the rearview mirror. A Bang & Olufsen premium sound system is available.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front-and-rear parking sensors.

The Q5 Sportback is only offered with one engine—a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. It makes 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed automatic transmission to Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). The Q5 Sportback returns an estimated fuel economy of 23 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. Cargo space measures 24.7 cubic feet with the rear seats in place, and 51.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
