How much does the 2022 Audi A4 cost?

There are 647 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2022 Audi A4 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Audi A4 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Technology, and Safety.

The A4’s appeal starts with a rock-solid structure and modern technology, and it remains an excellent choice if you want a refined, well-rounded compact luxury sports sedan. It is also fun to drive, with impressive technology and great safety ratings adding to its appeal.

The trade-offs are straightforward: the base engine is underwhelming, and the back seat is cramped.

The market looks healthy enough to support shopping, with 38.5% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Audi A4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The A4’s overall package points to solid day-to-day dependability: it feels well built, its technology is modern, and the car’s structure and controls are described as rock-solid and effective. The turbocharged powertrains are refined, and the S-tronic dual-clutch transmission is described as behaving beautifully.

Audi also includes standard AWD, and the car’s standard equipment set is generous for the class. If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the least powerful version may leave you wanting more, so it’s worth prioritizing the engine and trim that best match your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi A4?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, because the A4’s appeal depends heavily on how well its interior, technology, and driving feel have been preserved.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige, and the base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment. Higher trims add more of the features that make the A4 feel upscale and complete.
• Powertrain: The 40 TFSI uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, while the 45 TFSI raises output to 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet. Both use a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic and standard Quattro Ultra AWD.
• Safety package: Audi Pre Sense includes front and rear collision preparation, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. Higher trims can add lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam Assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a safe exit warning system, a surround-view camera system, Park Assist, and Matrix-design LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation.
• Infotainment: The A4 uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Audi Connect connected services and wireless smartphone charging. The system also supports OTA-style connected functionality through its connected-services setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The 40 TFSI earns 29 mpg in combined driving, while the 45 TFSI is rated at 27 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Audi A4 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A4 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest price and are comfortable giving up some of the richer convenience and driver-assistance equipment found higher up the range.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it should strike the strongest balance between equipment and price, giving you more of the features that make the A4 feel like a true luxury sedan without pushing all the way to the top.
• Prestige: This is the one to choose if you want the most complete version of the A4, including the fullest safety and convenience content described for the model.

Audi’s safety equipment is stair-stepped by trim, so the more you spend, the more driver-assistance and convenience features you get.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Audi A4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 647 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,872, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Audi A4's resale value?

The current average of $22,933 sits slightly below last year's $26,847.

That price movement suggests the A4 has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help keep demand steady if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, the softer market means your best protection is buying well and choosing a desirable trim and engine combination.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Audi A4 safe?

The 2022 Audi A4 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Audi Pre Sense includes front and rear collision preparation, forward-collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. The test vehicle also had lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam Assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a safe exit warning system, a surround-view camera system, Park Assist, and Matrix-design LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation.

One caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can react a bit slowly in changing traffic, so you should stay engaged even when the driver-assistance tech is active.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi A4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 A4 impressed as a refined, well-rounded compact luxury sports sedan that still feels remarkably fresh and remains an excellent choice for buyers who want modern technology and a rock-solid structure.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the A4’s polished driving feel, strong safety credentials, and modern tech at a more favorable price than last year. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can shop aggressively for a lower-mileage example near the bottom of the range, but the 2022 remains the better all-around target if you want the strongest mix of value, equipment, and confidence.
