How much does the 2022 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 9.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,614 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Acura MDX earns a 4.75/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its handling, interior quality, and spaciousness, and they also like the comfort, aesthetics, and blend of luxury with practicality. The main trade-offs are technology complaints and some feature omissions, while the overview makes clear that the third row is cramped if you need maximum passenger space.

With its fresh redesign, more modern cabin, and engaging driving character, it fits you best if you want a luxury three-row crossover that feels more polished than many rivals. 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly highlighting the MDX’s long-term appeal, comfort, and overall satisfaction. The expert evaluation also emphasizes a solid, confidence-inspiring feel, with a rigid body structure and a transmission that works smoothly with the engine.

The cost-effectiveness notes also describe it as reliable, elegant, fun transportation for up to seven passengers, which reinforces its everyday dependability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about core durability and more about whether the specific vehicle has been maintained well and equipped to your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the cabin electronics, seat comfort, and overall condition, since shoppers and reviewers both point to technology and feature-content concerns. It also makes sense to focus on whether the vehicle’s equipment matches how you plan to use it, especially if you need family-friendly space or want a more premium feature set.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model gets standard Jewel Eye LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, and a simpler audio setup, while Tech and above move to 20-inch wheels and more upscale equipment. If you want the richest cabin and the strongest feature content, the upper trims add more luxury and convenience, but the base trim is the one most likely to feel light on extras.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard on the base model and Tech, while Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive is optional there and standard on the higher trims.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX models, including collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist.
• Infotainment: Every MDX gets a 12.3-inch landscape-oriented infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi-compatible wireless charging, built-in Amazon Alexa, a WiFi hotspot, and over-the-air software and firmware updates. Navigation is standard on Tech and above.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2022 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: MDX, Tech Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• MDX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core redesign, the V6, the 10-speed automatic, AcuraWatch, wireless smartphone integration, and the new 12.3-inch screen. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable keeping the equipment list simpler.
• Tech Package: This is the best-value trim because it adds navigation and a stronger ELS audio system while keeping the MDX’s essential character intact. It’s the trim to target if you want the most balanced mix of price, convenience, and everyday usefulness.
• A-Spec Package: This is the sportiest-looking version, and it also brings the higher-end ELS Studio 3D Premium Audio System plus CabinTalk. Choose it if style and premium audio matter more to you than value.
• Advance Package: This is the luxury-focused choice, with the richest feature set, a head-up display, and the most upscale presentation. It suits you best if you want the most comfort and convenience and are willing to pay for it.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up trims for the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,614 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,117, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $34,117 sits slightly below last year's $37,604.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may temper near-term resale upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the current pricing trend means you should expect a more competitive market than last year, especially if your vehicle lacks desirable equipment or has condition issues. Well-equipped examples with strong presentation should still hold attention better than stripped or heavily used ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX safe?

The 2022 Acura MDX hasn’t yet received released crash-test ratings from IIHS or NHTSA in the available data.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The AcuraWatch suite is standard on all MDX models, and it includes collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist. The MDX also adds low-speed braking control with sonar-based object detection, automatic braking intervention, and collision mitigation throttle control.

The main caveat is that formal crash-test results were not yet available in the source data, so you should weigh the standard safety tech alongside the vehicle’s actual test history once ratings are published.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a fresh redesign with a new platform, new styling, and a more engaging driving character.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,648, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $34,117 average.
• It adds complimentary AcuraLink connected services and scheduled maintenance coverage.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because it delivers the redesigned MDX experience at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for added ownership perks and newer-model convenience, the 2023 is the better fit.
