Toyota uses tech like regenerative braking, low-resistance tires, EV-only mode, and selectable driving modes to further enhance fuel economy, resulting in ratings of 53 city, 52 highway, and 53 combined. The Corolla Hybrid LE, the sole trim, features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, satellite radio, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, a WiFi hotspot, Siri Eyes Free, and keyless start. The 2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid hasn’t yet been fully tested, but the 2020 model earned a five-star overall rating from the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). From the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2020 Corolla Hybrid earned top Good scores in six crash tests and a Top Safety Pick rating. Standard safety features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping and lane-tracing assist, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition.
