Used 2021 Toyota Camry for Sale nearSalinas, CA

How much does the 2021 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 1.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,252 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and drivetrains.

Is the 2021 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Toyota Camry earns a 4.65/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, great handling, stylish design, fuel efficiency, and reliable performance. The expert review also points to a comfortable, spacious cabin and a driving experience that is more engaging than many shoppers expect from a Camry.

The trade-offs are clear: the technology feels outdated, and the base engine is described as underwhelming. That matters most if you want the most modern cabin experience or the strongest acceleration.

Given the Camry’s broad appeal as a practical midsize sedan, it makes sense if you want a dependable daily driver with strong efficiency and a wide range of configurations. The market also shows 30.9% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.65/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe the Camry as reliable and praise its dependable, trouble-free performance, especially for everyday use. The expert review reinforces that reputation by noting Toyota’s excellent reliability standing and the Camry’s long-running appeal as a practical, confidence-inspiring sedan.

Toyota’s maintenance and warranty coverage is conventional for the class, so the ownership story leans more on the model’s reputation than on standout coverage perks. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is buying a neglected example, so service history matters as much as the badge.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Toyota Camry?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the cabin tech and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: LE and XLE models get a cleaner grille, while SE, XSE, and TRD trims add more aggressive styling details and visual clutter. The base LE also comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, and XLE and XSE models add leather upholstery.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, a 3.5-liter V6, or a hybrid setup. The four-cylinder is the base engine, the V6 brings 301 hp, and the hybrid is the efficiency play.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on XLE and XSE, and optional on LE and SE.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, and SiriusXM. Higher trims add a 9-inch touchscreen, WiFi, navigation, and a nine-speaker JBL audio system.

Which 2021 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2021 Toyota Camry is offered in 6 trim levels: LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade Edition, XSE, and TRD.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the best-value starting point if you want the Camry’s core strengths without paying for extras. It gives you the standard safety suite, the 7-inch touchscreen, and the cleaner base look, making it the trim most shoppers should start with.
• SE: This is the right step up if you want a sportier appearance and a more engaging feel without jumping to the top of the range. It sits near the middle of the lineup and is a sensible choice if you want more style while keeping the Camry’s practical side intact.
• SE Nightshade Edition: This is the style-focused pick, with blacked-out exterior trim and wheels. It makes sense if you want the SE formula with a darker look and don’t mind paying for appearance upgrades.
• XLE: This is the comfort-oriented choice, with leather upholstery and access to more upscale tech and convenience features. It suits you best if you want a more premium-feeling Camry for daily commuting.
• XSE: This is the most feature-rich mainstream trim, pairing upscale touches with the stronger available equipment list. It’s a good fit if you want a well-equipped Camry and are willing to pay more for it.
• TRD: This is the enthusiast pick, with the V6 and chassis upgrades that add extra performance and style. Choose it if you want the most distinctive Camry driving character.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on XLE and XSE, but optional on LE and SE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Toyota Camry?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with patience and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,252 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,991, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $21,776 sits slightly below last year's $22,155.

That modest decline suggests the Camry is holding value reasonably well, but not appreciating in the current market. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing trend means you may need to be realistic about your asking price, especially if your car has average mileage or visible wear.

On the other hand, the Camry’s broad appeal helps support demand. Buyers still respond to its reputation for reliability, practicality, and efficiency, which should help keep resale interest steady over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.65/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2021 Toyota Camry earned a “Top Safety Pick+” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star ratings in front, side, and rollover crash tests from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition. Toyota also adds Rear Seat Reminder as standard on all trim levels.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on XLE and XSE, and optional on LE and SE. The main caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on the lower trims.

Should I buy a 2021 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.65/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Toyota added updated infotainment displays and an upgraded Safety Sense 2.5+ package this year.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,173, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $21,776 average.
• It adds all-wheel drive and the TRD performance trim.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,258, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $21,776 average.
• It remains roomy, reliable, efficient, and safe.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and availability, the 2021 is the smart default. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2020 can save you money while still delivering the Camry’s core strengths.
