How much does the 2021 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 1.48% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,922 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — 4.9/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. Owners consistently praise its electric nature, advanced technology, and fun driving dynamics, and many also call out its eco-friendliness and performance as standout traits. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury crossover with roomy packaging, a rear hatch, generous cargo space, and standard all-wheel drive. The market also shows 30.4% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable ownership experience centered on the vehicle’s electric nature, advanced technology, and overall driving enjoyment. The repeated praise for its long-term appeal suggests that many owners feel confident living with it over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core appeal and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been well cared for and remains in strong condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report so you can confirm the car’s background and spot any prior damage or title issues. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, interior, and electronics, since condition matters a lot on a tech-heavy EV like this. It also makes sense to focus on how well the vehicle’s features and overall wear match the asking price, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when you find a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,922 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.48% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 79.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,722, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $26,745 sits slightly above last year's $26,355.

That upward move suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A stable-to-rising price trend can help support your resale position, especially if you buy at a competitive price and keep the vehicle in strong condition. Strong demand for well-kept examples should help you preserve more value than you would in a softer market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.48% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better primary path if you want a well-liked Model Y with strong owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If you’re more price-sensitive, it’s worth comparing nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2021’s balance of demand, inventory, and owner approval.
