How much does the 2021 RAM 2500 cost?

Is the 2021 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.69/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, safety features, and value for money, and many also appreciate the impressive power and fuel efficiency, especially with the diesel engine. For you, that means this truck fits best if you want heavy-duty capability with a more upscale cabin and broad jobsite-to-family usefulness. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.69/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a truck people feel good about keeping, especially because of its performance and value for money. The repeated praise for power and fuel efficiency also suggests a model that can serve well over time if it has been maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s core appeal and more about making sure the specific example has been cared for and not worked hard without proper upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status, title status, and prior use. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the truck’s condition, especially signs of heavy-duty wear that may not show up in photos. Focus on how well the cabin, bed, and mechanical components have been maintained, since condition matters a lot on a truck that may have been used for demanding work.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay selective.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,641 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,323, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $40,327 sits slightly below last year's $44,539.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean slower appreciation if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this truck still has meaningful demand, but pricing it well will matter if you want to move it quickly. Strong condition and documented maintenance should help you protect value better than mileage alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.69/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.69/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,268, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $40,327 average.
• It emphasizes upscale capability with a serious heavy-duty personality.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced buy, the 2021 is the stronger default because it combines solid owner satisfaction, a healthy listing pool, and a softer price trend. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2020 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in strong condition and can live with its lower price point.
