How much does the 2021 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 4.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 907 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.77/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the sporty design, interior quality, and driving dynamics, and they also like the luxury feel at an affordable price. The CX-30’s appeal is strongest if you want a stylish, comfortable small crossover that feels more premium than many mainstream rivals.

The trade-offs are back-seat legroom and the desire for more USB ports, while the expert review also points to poor handling and fairly pedestrian performance. Even so, the overall package fits buyers who value confidence, capability, style, and satisfaction more than hardcore performance.

Good and great deals account for 33.8% of listings, so there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free enough to inspire confidence over time, with many buyers emphasizing the CX-30’s long-term appeal and the kind of ownership experience you can count on. The expert review also describes Mazda’s tuning as mature and sophisticated, which supports the impression of a well-sorted vehicle rather than one that feels rushed or unfinished.

Mazda also includes three free years of Connected Services, including remote engine starting and a vehicle finder function, which adds a little ownership convenience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the specific vehicle has been maintained well and kept in good condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mazda CX-30?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, interior wear, and how well the vehicle’s features work. Since owners mention back-seat space and USB-port needs, it also helps to make sure the cabin layout fits your daily use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard CX-30 Turbo has an upscale cabin with quality materials, complementary tones and textures, stitched chocolate brown surfaces, and a standard frameless rearview mirror. Premium and Premium Plus add black or white leather, while the base setup uses black or Griege leatherette upholstery.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive. Output ranges from 227 to 250 horsepower depending on fuel octane, with torque rated at 310 or 320 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Every CX-30 Turbo gets i-ActiveSense advanced driver assistance systems, plus mobile 9-1-1 automatic emergency notification. Premium adds adaptive front lighting, and Premium Plus adds front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: You get an 8.8-inch display, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Mazda Connected Services with remote engine start and a vehicle finder function. Premium and Premium Plus add SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and an Active Driving Display.
• Fuel efficiency: The CX-30 Turbo is rated at 25 mpg in combined driving, and the review says it averaged 24.1 mpg in testing.

Which 2021 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 3 trim levels: standard CX-30 Turbo, Premium, and Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• CX-30 Turbo: This is the trim to target if you want the core turbocharged experience with standard all-wheel drive, the 8.8-inch display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the full i-ActiveSense safety suite. It gives you the best value if you care most about the CX-30’s upscale feel and strong standard equipment.
• Premium: This trim adds adaptive front lighting, plus SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and an Active Driving Display. It makes sense if you want the most balanced upgrade without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Premium Plus: This is the one to choose if you want the most convenience and parking help, since it adds front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and Traffic Jam Assist. It’s the best fit if you want the most complete feature set.

Premium Plus also gets the added safety and convenience features from the higher trim, while every CX-30 Turbo keeps the core i-ActiveSense package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mazda CX-30?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 907 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,027, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $19,428 sits slightly below last year's $20,327.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-30 has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the current trend means you should expect a market that rewards clean condition, strong equipment, and well-documented history more than simple age alone.

Because the model still has solid owner satisfaction and a premium reputation, demand should remain reasonably healthy for well-kept examples. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The Mazda CX-30 Turbo earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment except rollover resistance, where it receives a four-star rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda equips every CX-30 Turbo with i-ActiveSense advanced driver assistance systems, and the suite is described as effective without being irritating. Standard safety tech includes the usual driver-assistance features, while Premium Plus adds front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and Traffic Jam Assist. The main caveat is that there is no high-speed lane-centering assistance function.

Should I buy a 2021 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends premium design, strong safety, and turbocharged confidence without chasing hardcore performance.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $18,736, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $19,428 average.
• It offers extra ground clearance and easier entry and exit.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,341, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $19,428 average.
• It brings a more upscale cabin and a more spacious feel.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, safety, and premium feel, the 2021 is the strongest all-around choice. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 is the value play; if you want a newer-feeling cabin and can spend more, the 2022 is worth a look.
