Used 2021 Lexus GX for Sale nearSeattle, WA

How much does the 2021 Lexus GX cost?

Prices have softened 1.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 816 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2021 Lexus GX a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Lexus GX earns a 4.17/5 user rating and a 5.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 7/10.

Owners consistently praise its luxury, dependability, and beautiful design, especially the interior and quiet driving experience. The GX also appeals if you want a rugged SUV with real off-road hardware and a premium cabin. The trade-offs are clear: outdated technology, poor fuel economy, and limited cargo space and towing capability. That makes it a better fit if you value character, comfort, and capability over modern polish. Good and great deals account for 38.2% of listings, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.17/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to dependability, and the GX is also described as a vehicle Lexus buyers can count on over the long term. The expert evaluation reinforces that reputation by noting Lexus’s excellent reliability reputation and the GX’s long-running, familiar design. Lexus also backs it with a four-year, 50,000-mile basic warranty and a six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that age-related wear and outdated hardware can matter more than the badge.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Lexus GX?

At 73.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and focus on any prior damage, repairs, or title issues before you get too far into the process. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a body-on-frame SUV like this, since ride quality, braking feel, and wear items can vary a lot by use. Pay close attention to how the cabin, electronics, and suspension feel in person, because this model’s age shows up most clearly in everyday condition and functionality.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim is the most stripped-down version, while Premium adds more comfort and appearance content, and Luxury brings the most upscale cabin touches. The Premium trim gets standard silver 18-inch wheels, and the Luxury trim adds semi-aniline leather upholstery.
• Powertrain: You get a single 4.6-liter V8 with 301 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It is tuned more for traditional SUV character and off-road use than for quick, efficient commuting.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard too, but the GX misses traffic-sign recognition and Lane Tracing Assist.
• Infotainment: The GX uses a 2021-era system with Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant connectivity, but no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. It has a touchscreen interface, though the setup is basic and the graphics are dated.
• Fuel efficiency: The GX is rated at 16 mpg combined, 15 mpg city, and 19 mpg highway.

Which 2021 Lexus GX trim should I buy?

The 2021 Lexus GX is offered in 3 trim levels: base, Premium, and Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the GX’s core ruggedness and standard four-wheel drive without paying for extra comfort features. It makes sense if you care most about the GX’s traditional SUV hardware and want the lowest starting point.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more polished feel without pushing you all the way to the top of the range. It also gets standard silver 18-inch wheels, and the test vehicle used this midlevel setup.
• Luxury: Choose this if you want the most upscale cabin and the added hardware that comes with the top trim. It includes semi-aniline leather and can be paired with the optional Off-Road Package, which adds a transmission cooler, fuel-tank protector, multi-view camera system, Crawl Control, and Multi-Terrain Select.

Lexus Safety System+ is standard across the lineup, but the GX still misses some driver-assistance features found on other Lexus and Toyota models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Lexus GX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 816 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,979, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $41,614 sits slightly below last year's $42,334.

That softer pricing suggests the GX is holding value reasonably well, but not appreciating in the way a scarce or highly in-demand model might. For a future seller, that means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the truck has been well maintained. The GX’s niche appeal can help support demand among buyers who want rugged luxury, but its age and fuel economy can limit the audience. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.17/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Lexus GX safe?

The 2021 Lexus GX has not been rated by either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ is standard, with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard as well. The main safety shortcoming is that the GX misses traffic-sign recognition and Lane Tracing Assist, so it trails some other Lexus and Toyota models in driver-assistance breadth.

Should I buy a 2021 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.17/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the GX’s rugged body-on-frame setup, standard four-wheel drive, and single V8 powertrain.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $37,173, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $41,614 average.
• It offers refreshed styling and a more memorable look.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $46,968, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $41,614 average.
• It emphasizes rugged capability and towing with the same traditional GX formula.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and the GX’s core character, the 2021 is the sensible pick. If your priority is spending less, the 2020 is the better value path; if you want to pay more for the next model year’s similar rugged formula, the 2022 is the alternative to compare.
